Gingergirl Vintage Awnings

Most people know that I started Gingergirl Vintage Awnings because I am not a big fan of striped awnings, yet that was about all there was just six years ago. HOWEVER, Juliette M. really knows how to take a striped awning to the next level by pairing it with a geometric fabric to add character. The valances on this awning are "stacked" as opposed to "alternating" and are a bit offset to give it the illusion of a wave. I think it turned out quite well, and I hope she loves it!

I just love Wendy C.'s style with the pop of hot pink fringe and neon green trim! I just know we would be besties!! I have often wished all my clients lived next door. We would all have a blast! The people that gravitate towards Gingergirl, tend to be a special breed, in the best of ways! I have found my tribe!!

SHIPPING COSTS... UGH!

I try my hardest to get the lowest shipping prices possible, that will get your awning to you in a timely manner. However, as I am sure you know, the prices have been rising for quite some time.

I still am able to use the USPS Large Flat Rate box for $26, but this only works for 2 panel awnings, and no accessories. And I have to vacuum pack it to fit!

If you ordered a larger awning (3 panels plus), as well as accessories such as a rock guard awning or tire cover, I will need to use my own box, which will cost more $. At the time of ordering, I can get pretty close to forecasting what the shipping costs will be. So let's not forget to have that conversation!

One last thing... like I've posted, I almost always have extra fabric to send home to you. Sometimes under a yard, but maybe 2 or 3 yards. Whether your fabric has a pattern to match, determines whether I needed to order a few extra to make sure there is enough. When it comes to shipping, this can add to the cost, however. We can chat about whether it is worth it for me to send that extra fabric home.

ZELLE has become my favored way to transfer monies. No fees, immediately transfered. Almost all banks and credit unions have Zelle available. You just need to set it up on your account. Only requires an email!

DID YOU KNOW...?

That I test fabrics for waterproofness before I apply it? Because if it is already holding water well, my solution would most likely not get absorbed. I really try to save my clients money by not adding costs they are unnecessary.

The solution I use is made for outdoor Sunbrella fabric which is similar to all fabrics I use (except Spoonflow. But that discussion is for another day!)

I use a fat sponge to literally soak the fabric, pompoms and fringe included! Then I hang to dry.

This solution is toxic, afterwards! I always have fresh airflow and all skin covered, or it burns. I then go immediately and take a shower afrerwards!
