The Flagler County Sheriffโs Office has arrested a Palm Coast teenager for physically attacking a man inside a Palm Coast home over the weekend and then pointing a gun at another man immediately after the altercation.
On Sunday, November 16, Flagler County Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call shortly after midnight during which the caller told 911 operators that several individuals had entered a home on Pitt Lane and then attacked another person inside the residence. According to the caller, a firearm was discharged during the incident.
A victim later told detectives that he and a friend had traveled to the residence in Palm Coast to โpick up a package,โ and upon stepping into the entryway of the home, he was immediately attacked by two masked men who had followed him inside. According to the victim, one of the masked men, identified as Dakoda Nodelman, 16, of Palm Coast, repeatedly pistol-whipped him in the head before chasing after him out the door.
A second victim, who witnessed the attack while sitting inside the vehicle they had arrived in, told detectives that he ran from the vehicle after a man pointed a gun at him from the driverโs side while a women opened the passenger door where he was seated.
During the investigation, Major Case Unit detectives determined that Nodelman followed the victim inside the residence and repeatedly struck him in the head with a firearm and, after chasing the victim outside, pointed a firearm at a second victim before rummaging through the vehicle. Detectives also determined that Nodelman took the first victimโs shoes, cell phone and car keys during the robbery. After obtaining a search warrant for the home, detectives located the victimโs car keys hidden inside a dirty cat litter box and the shoes underneath a bed.
When questioned, Nodelman told detectives that he fell in the grass outside after the altercation, causing the firearm to discharge unintentionally and then disposed of the firearm after fleeing the scene.
โThis is a prime example of why parents need to be the sheriff of their own home,โ said Sheriff Rick Staly. โThis kind of violent behavior by juveniles will not be tolerated in Flagler County. This teenager should have never been in possession of a firearm to begin with. Kids, guns and committing crimes is a recipe for disaster. Hopefully, our State Attorney with his Kids & Guns initiative will charge him as an adult, as his actions could have been deadly.โ
Nodelman was arrested for robbery with a firearm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, all felony charges. He was transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility for processing and then turned over to the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice.
This investigation is still active. Anyone with information regarding this case should contact Flagler County Sheriffโs Office Master Detective Adam Gossett at [email protected].
