I’ve not had much service and when I have I’ve tried to check in with everyone I know… but that’s a lot of people. Things are CRAZY here. Our beautiful mountains and communities have been forever changed. FEMA will be at our place in the morning doing their inspection and hopefully we can start cleaning up. Our whole property was underwater… but thank God we only lost 1 rabbit. All the other Happy Little Hippies are safe. We were pretty prepared for no power and no water unlike so many others. And our land is still there and intact… unlike so many others whose homes, belongings and loved ones literally disappeared…. Fell of the map and into the river or mud slide. There is no amount of preparation for the Mountain falling down. But God has his hands all over us and is providing a way. Unfortunately we didn’t have insurance. But thanks to God working through our amazing friends, neighbors and community We now have a roof over our head, clothes to wear and plenty of food and water for now. We will however need a lot as we move forward with cleanup and rebuilding. I’m posting my Venmo and cashapp info for those that have reached out and want to help. We will use it to rebuild our home and make the Happy Little Hippy-sted new again. Anything I can pay forward to those who have lost more than us we will. Please don’t feel like you need to give… God will take care of us🥰 but it will be used wisely if you just really want to. We THANK EVERYONE FOR EVERYTHING!!!!! And a giant THANK YOU TO OUR BLESSED SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST for ALWAYS making a way… even when it doesn’t make sense 💕

Still no baby/babies… she’s hanging in there and holding on to them. Tomorrow is day 155 of pregnancy… so she should really be dropping any min. She seems to be nesting and things seem to be loosening up, we just need some fluids and contractions to start!!!

It’s finally getting to be spring and all the green is starting to pop 🥰 It’s my favorite time of the year!!! Here is some basic info on one of those wild w**ds so many, look over, mow over, w**d eat, and played with or picked as kids. You can find them everywhere!!! They have MANY more medicinal benefits than listed in this post. So look them up, go out and get some or holler at me, I’m gonna have plenty!! I also have some of Last years Jelly still if you wanna try it. Wild Violets are pretty amazing 🤩

Wild violets are popping up in forests and shaded lawns all across the Southern US! Both the leaves and flowers of violets are edible, and they’re extremely nutritious!

By weight, wild violet leaves are higher in vitamin C than oranges, and are also high in vitamin A, calcium, and magnesium.

There are numerous wild violet species, and all of them are edible(although I avoid picking the rare ones). Violets have flowers with 5 petals, with the lower petal usually displaying distinct veins. Most wild violets have heart shaped leaves with bases that curl inward when young.

Violets have 3 parted seed pods that explode upon maturity, leaving behind a distinct 3-parted “claw”(see picture) which can be used to identify the plant in the non-flowering season.

Violet leaves can be added raw to salads, used as a soup thickener, or dried and made into tea. The flowers are made into jelly, candied, or used as a garnish to give deserts a flare of color.
