Before & After: From High-Maintenance Wood to a Clean, Modern Screen System:

This porch had good bones, but the original wood-framed, stapled-in screening and 2x4 wood railings required constant upkeep. Between painting, weather exposure, and routine maintenance, it was becoming more work than enjoyment.

We removed the aging wood screening system and replaced it with a custom white powder-coated aluminum extrusion screen system designed for long-term durability and a much cleaner appearance. The wood railings were replaced with matching aluminum 1x1 railings to create a seamless, low-maintenance finish throughout the porch.

To make the space more comfortable year-round, the west-facing wall was screened with Phifer SunTex 80 solar screen, helping reduce harsh afternoon sun, glare, and heat gain while still preserving the view.

The result is a porch that looks sharper, requires far less maintenance, and is significantly more comfortable to use during the hottest part of the day.

Sometimes the biggest transformation isn't making a porch larger, it's making it a space you actually want to spend time in.
