Tolbert Contracting Custom Log and Timber homes Tolbert Contracting Inc. is a small family owned business, located in Orange County Virginia, was started by Nathan and Angela Tolbert in 2006.

Tolbert Contracting was started with the main emphasis of log home and timber frame home construction as its specialty. Still to this day, Tolbert specializes in log home and timber frame home construction. Tolbert Contracting has grown to be one of few log home builders in Central Virginia, providing turnkey solutions and dry- in only services for any and all log and timber frame kits and package

s. Nathan Tolbert started his career in Architectural Design immediately after graduating High School, going on to design homes full time for area builders and homeowners too numerous to count. In 2002, Nathan decided to jump on board with a custom home builder located in Fredericksburg, Virginia, as their full time in house design draftsman. Nathan quickly realized that his real passion was actually seeing the drawings he had done for so long come to life. Nathan quickly moved up through the ranks, estimating, project and production management, and finally in 2004 became an owner and general manager of a $7,000,000 building company alongside three other partners. The company had several divisions including: custom homes, spec homes, remodeling, and log homes, which was Nathan’s contribution to the company. As in many partnerships, difference of opinions led Nathan to sever that business relationship, sparking the creation of Tolbert Contracting Inc in September of 2006. Nathan and Angela have a total of six children, four boys and two girls that will all have their opportunity to join the Tolbert Contracting ranks as their time arrives. Michael, the oldest Son, worked 5 years in the ‘family business’, before venturing off to start his own business, while the Tolbert’s next oldest son, Mason proudly serves in the United States Marine Corps. The rest of the Tolbert crew resides in beautiful Orange County Virginia, which is also home base for Tolbert Contracting Inc.

Another mountain home up on the finish block. After 7 months waiting for Appalachian to run electric power, we can finally move to close out this home. People are surprised to find me on the job with a shovel and rake but I consider dirt work therapy. Managing 3-7 home builds at any given day, it’s not hard to imagine how peaceful it is to escape to a jobsite in the backwoods on a sunny 75 degree day with limited cell signal, just me, my machine and a rake. 😎of
