(Hi everybody! Working with a design professional on a home project is kind of an odd thing. Most people who do may only do it once in their life, and the process can be confusing the first time through. I thought it might be fun to share more about the process here on Instagram for anyone thinking about a home project but unsure what to expect. So here’s my first post in what I hope to be a running bit sharing information for those interested!)

PROGRAMMING
We often refer to the information-gathering-phase as ‘Programming’, but it’s really just figuring out what things we need to know to start. What you need, what inspires you, what’s working in your existing home and what definitely isn’t. This is information gathering- if it's a remodeling project, that includes measuring and documenting your existing home. Also, pulling together what inspires you- often from Pinterest or Houzz. And if it's helpful, a Programming Guide; basically a questionnaire that helps me better understand what you need. In addition to the basics (how many bedrooms do you need?) it also includes some things like:
-If money were no object, what would you want to have as part of your project?
-What three words would you like your friends to use when they describe your home?

What information you gather is up to you, but getting a better understanding of your goals is always a help. Reach out if you’d like to know more.

Got a new office mate. Productivity is probably down a little, but office morale is up, so all in all a net positive… for me, at least. Unclear on morale level of other dog.

Last weekend we were honored to be a sponsor for “Hope Rocks” - an event supporting Faith’s Lodge. Faith’s Lodge provides counseling and connection for parents experiencing the unimaginable- losing a child. While this isn’t something we’ve needed directly, we’ve seen firsthand the good it can do, the community and support that comes from it, and were happy to help support their efforts.

Sometimes it works out that a window is in just the right spot. This tub is in a room of its own, with a great (but private) view. Really fun to see it coming together!
