Trying to get prepared for 📸 sessions to start. With only 2 days until sessions, things are a bit behind. Thanks to several weeks of triple digit extreme heat.

September 11, 2001, A day most of us will NEVER forget. I was at work. A secretary for a family insurance agency.

The 3 of us girls in the office had started watching the initial coverage on a small tv in our back office/break room. (The only tv in the office) The phone started ringing not long later & it was my friends mom. My friend was in labor with my God child so I rushed to labor & delivery to be with her. While she was pushing, a tower fell & less than 10 minutes or so later, a new life was born. This picture was taken that afternoon.

Such a bittersweet day!

Where were you? 🇺🇸

The zinnias were the only "damage" from our strong storm that came thru early Thursday morning. They got a good thrashing but the flowers are still pretty in a couple areas. I counted 10 butterflies fluttering around them this afternoon.

Happy Friday, friends!

I'll never forget where I was the morning of September 11th. Life is precious y'all! It can change in a flash. Try to enjoy what really matters. 🫶

I'll be enjoying the day with our 4 year old nephew. We will be taking FULL advantage of the not as hot day & playing outside as much as possible! (87°F 30°C) Soaking up this last year with him before he goes to Kindergarten next school year. 😳 Hard to believe that little newborn I started watching on Fridays will be going to school full-time in less than 12 months! 🥺

Flower update after the storms we had overnight.

Thankful for some reprieve from the triple digits. Praying the sunflower circles & our zinnia circle survive the potential strong storm with gusty winds. This will be the first real moisture from mother nature since planting the sunflowers. 🙏🙌

Prayer warriors UNITE!

Sessions supposed to start on Sunday...

This section of sunflowers on our outer circle are my height & some are taller! The heads are bigger & a few centers are starting to show. The anticipation or blooms is exciting! Hopefully the others will catch up in the next week or 2.

This heat has been brutal! We have a cooler weather (79°F 26°C) tomorrow with the potential of strong storms with gusty wind. We could desperately use the rain but the gusty winds, not so much. Bone meal was added last week to help strengthen the stalks.

Living on hope & lots of prayers 🙏

4 days until 📸 sessions begin.

Our first flower bloomed in the sunflower circles! Unfortunately, it's very small but it's cute.

In other news, the taller ones on the opposite side are officially my height & taller than me! A couple of the heads look like they are getting close to opening. There's a lot behind but this one section is giving me hope. They were watered another 2.5 hours tonight.

Our first chance of rain is a potential storm. The chance was higher so I'm hopeful it won't be too wild. A picture of our weather & the predictions for Thursday will be in the comments. Definitely looking forward to some relief from this triple digit extreme heat!

Worked on more signs at 10 pm in the front yard. More on that soon.
