Sometimes the best part of my job is bringing people such joy and happiness with a new fresh landscape design. This persons home had been involved in a fire and the outside of the property was the last thing on there mind to take care of. After discussing some design ideas we decided to transplant some of the Hostas, add in some evergreens and several different types of perennials ,care free shrub roses ,and Hydrangea Trees . The final result came out really nice and will attract bees, butterflies and POP with color all season long ! At the same time we also graded out and installed a new front lawn.
I love standing back with my customers at the end of the job admiring all the new plants and seeing how it all came together, but knowing how happy they will be for years to come enjoying their new landscapes!

Happy new year!!

It’s only early January and it looks like a long winter ahead with all the cold and snow this year, but that’s okay there’s always so much to do in the off season. I actually enjoy it very much with plenty to keep me busy. I’ll be attending several classes and seminars, networking , equipment maintenance, designing, estimating/ consulting. All fun exciting stuff, along with seeing some old friends and meeting some new ones,never a dull moment.

Looking forward… in a couple months when the weather breaks I will be embarking on another season. ( the good lord willing) . I will be ready! Part of my winter routine is staying active. I’m currently doing strength training and plenty of walking, hiking and a little running to get in shape, kinda like spring training for opening day. Hard to believe but it will be a little over 31 years in business within the green industry. My how time flies !

So on that note.. here are a bunch of random pics of some projects from last season at various stages of before, during and after. I’ve added some captions on the photos so please check them out.

A moon gate rises out of the earth, like the moon rises in the sky; both spheres celebrate the continuous cycle of birth and death...rising and falling…
We really enjoyed working with our client to create this sacred space. A place to meditate, pray and call on the spirits of our loved ones who have gone before us. To acknowledge the beauty of Earth, Wind, Fire, & Water… and life as we know it.
We started this project in March this year and it’s coming along nicely. Although in its infancy it will grow and develop for year round season long color and interest.

On a personal note; It was really a pleasure and so much fun working with the wonderful lady who had a dream for this garden!
Thank you for letting my creativity flow along with blending it together with your dreams to create this amazing space!

Its planting season and it’s been a real challenge to get these lawns planted in between the spring rains but we’re getting them done . Some of the steps we take to prepare the new lawn are: Grading- Decompacting- Root/ Rock removal- Soil Conditioning- Organic matter- Tilling- Hand rake to a Table top finish .
There are a variety of methods for covering the seed and each one has its time and place based on the time of year and the amount of slope on the property... Hydro Seeding - Straw & Straw Blankets- Cover grow - Peat Moss are work well . After installation we give the client a watering demonstration with specific instructions to follow for the development of the new turfgrass. It’s a process that takes time and a commitment but once the new lawn gets established we are confident that a sod quality lawn will be there for years of enjoyment.
As an option we offer Sod installation on a seasonal basis as well .

Outdoor lighting design and Installation….. We always have so much fun putting these all together! The old adage “ more is less, less is more “ always rings so true. We dial our systems in by using higher/ lower wattage bulbs and wider / narrower lense angles to highlight, feature and shadow cast.
Our customer opted for PRO TRADE LIGHTING fixtures and transformer known for there quality and durability. Then when we add in our meticulous attention to detail, methods and techniques the final result equals a beautiful new nightscape with a visual layer of home security the homeowner will enjoy for years to come !
