I knew the energy was off the moment I walked into this room.

One of the biggest challenges in living rooms like this is balancing traffic flow with furniture placement. When you have multiple entryways, finding a layout that feels natural can be surprisingly difficult.

A lot of people are strongly against mounting a TV above the fireplace, and sometimes that's absolutely the right call. In this case, the TV was taking up the only solid wall, which forced the furniture to float awkwardly in the middle of the room.

While floating furniture can work beautifully in some spaces, here it was creating obstacles instead of flow.

By moving the TV above the fireplace, we were able to reclaim the room's layout, improve circulation, and create a space that feels more open, connected, and intentional.

The difference wasn't just visual—it completely changed how the room functions.

This months blog is all about overstimulation and the home. Most women understand that overstimulation is a real thing and oftentimes be in the home with piles of dishes, loads of laundry to be done and clutter does nothing to help calm that nervous system....

Exterior materials are a big decision. It's not something to take lightly. Textures, colors and scale all make a difference.

It's important to balance materials in ways similar to how you'd do so within the home. We want to be conscious of using natural versus synthetic materials because of how they present themselves. Synthetics often lose the depth and dimension and can be plastic-looking.

I recently went to an initial consultation for a client’s bedroom. The room itself was awkward, long and narrow so I understood why she had difficulty arranging the furniture. After walking through the room together, I suggested moving the bed to a different wall which she could do before even buying new furniture, just for a test run! I also suggested removing a few extra drapery panels that were visually weighing the room down.

That was it.

No renovation.
No new furniture.
No major expense.

Just intentional changes to improve the flow and feeling of the space.

A few weeks later, she told me she’s already sleeping better.

THIS is why I love intentional design and feng shui so much. Your home is constantly affecting how you feel — mentally, emotionally, and even physically.

We need better flow.
Better function.
Better energy.

Now, on to the pretty stuff to help support the bedroom (and her sleep) even more!

Your home should support you, not drain you. 🤍

You don’t need a full remodel to shift the energy of your home. ✨

Sometimes the smallest changes create the biggest transformation.

Moving your bed to improve flow.
Clearing a cluttered surface.
Adding softer lighting.
Bringing in natural textures.
Creating breathing room where there once was tension.
Adding plants.

Your home is constantly influencing how you feel — whether you realize it or not.

Feng shui isn’t about perfection or following rigid rules. It’s about intentionally creating a space that supports your peace, your goals, your relationships, and your daily life.

A home should feel grounding.
Supportive.
Restful.
Aligned.

And often, it starts with simply paying attention to how a space makes you feel. 🤍

The “in-progress” stage isn’t always glamorous… and honestly, sometimes it’s pretty messy..

But THIS is where the magic starts to happen.

This office breakroom is officially making its way into the 21st century, and even mid-construction, I’m already loving how it’s coming together. Watching a space transform from outdated into something functional, fresh, and intentional never gets old.

The finished result is always exciting — but there’s something special about seeing the layers come together piece by piece.

Would you rather:
✨ live through the renovation process
OR
✨ walk in once it’s completely finished?

My blogs are BACK!

I've had multiple people say to me lately, "I didn't know you did THAT". I assume everyone knows what an interior designer does, however, we're not all the same. We don't all have the same background and focus. It's not just about the colors and materials. Those are are just a small piece of what I do. Not sure if a designer is the person to help with the project?! Read my blog to learn a bit more. :)

I think a lot of people misunderstand Feng Shui. It’s not about superstition or following a rigid set of rules — it’s really about intentional design. ✨

It’s about thoughtfully shaping your environment to reflect your wants, needs, goals, and the energy you want to invite into your life. Our homes affect us more than we realize. The spaces we spend time in can influence our mood, habits, focus, creativity, stress levels, and overall well-being.

Take a home office, for example. To create a functional, aligned workspace, the very first thing — in my opinion — is designing a space that reflects you.

For me, I’ve always loved soft blues and layered tones of blue. My wedding dress even had a similar silver-blue tone as the built-ins behind my desk. Those personal details matter because they create emotional connection and familiarity within a space.

From there, layout becomes incredibly important. Ideally, your desk should face the entry into the room so you can see who or what is coming into your space. In this office, the desk faces the French doors leading into the room, which creates a sense of awareness, confidence, and control within the environment.

Another huge part of intentional design? Clutter.

Clutter creates stagnant energy. It becomes visual noise and often turns into areas where things get piled up, forgotten about, or mentally avoided. Think about that feeling after decluttering and hauling away bags of things you no longer need — everything suddenly feels lighter, calmer, clearer, and more open. That shift in feeling is exactly the idea behind creating better flow within a home.

Intentional design is about creating spaces that support the life you’re trying to build — not just spaces that look beautiful in photos. 🤍
