For the people who want to harvest dinner from their backyard.

A kitchen garden just about growing vegetables.

It’s about creating a life that’s a little more connected to the seasons, a little more intentional, and a little more rooted in home.

You start noticing what’s ready before deciding what’s for dinner.

A basket of lettuce becomes a salad.

A handful of fresh herbs get tossed into pasta sauce.

Fresh veggies find their way into meals over time without thinking.

Most of the gardens in this reel were planted just weeks ago. They’re still filling in, still growing into what they’ll become.

But every thriving kitchen garden starts the same way: a few plants, a little patience, and the decision to begin.

The vegetables are wonderful.

But the real harvest is the life that grows around them.

Follow along for garden-to-table inspiration, seasonal harvests, and beautiful, productive gardens designed for real life.

Want bigger garlic bulbs? Don’t skip the garlic scapes.

Garlic scapes are the curly flower stalks that form on hardneck garlic varieties planted in the fall. If left on the plant, they redirect energy into flower and seed production instead of bulb development.

By harvesting them now, you’re encouraging the plant to focus on growing larger garlic bulbs underground.

And as a bonus? They’re delicious.

Try them sautéed, blended into pesto, added to stir-fries, or grilled alongside your favorite summer vegetables.

If your garlic is sending up these curly stems, it’s time to harvest. ✂️🧄

Have you tried garlic scapes before?

My client had the backyard and a garden dream. But their garden just wasn't growing well.

That's when they found me.

We designed their garden together, planned and planted their garden, set everything up, and coached them through every season. No googling, no guessing, just giving them someone to walk along side them every month in their garden.

They became successful gardeners.

Now their garden produces all season long. Something alive and beautiful right outside, exactly what they always pictured.

That's what I do.

If your garden hasn't been working the way you hoped, I'd love to help you change that.

→ Follow along, I'd love to help your garden become what you always imagined.

Watering sounds like the easy part… until your garden starts telling you otherwise. 😅

This is honestly the thing I see gardeners struggle with most—every single season. And I get it. It seems simple. Turn on the hose, water the plants, done. But there's so much more to it.

How much is enough? How do you actually know? What happens when you overdo it? And what changes when summer really heats up?

I put together this carousel to share what I wish someone had told me when I was starting out. No judgment, no lectures—just the stuff that actually makes a difference.

If you're growing in the Chicagoland area this summer, this one's especially for you. It's shaping up to be a hot, dry one—and your garden is counting on you to show up.

Save this for later. Share it with a friend who just started a garden. And if you want more seasonal tips like this, my newsletter is where it all lives. 💌 Link in bio.

There’s a whole world of garden greens that most people completely overlook 🌿

Fast harvests.
Fresh flavor.
So much variety.

The little moments where you step outside and clip something fresh for dinner on a busy weeknight.

And honestly?
This is the kind of gardening I wish more people talked about.

Because leafy greens can also be surprisingly frustrating when nobody teaches:
🌱 how differently they grow from the summer garden
🌱 how quickly weather shifts can change everything
🌱 how to stay ahead of pests and bolting
🌱 or how to keep harvests coming longer

That’s exactly why I created my Virtual Salad Garden Workshop.

A beginner-friendly class designed to help you grow fresh, flavorful greens with more confidence — and create a garden you actually enjoy using throughout the week 🌱

If this kind of garden life sounds like your thing, I’d love to have you join me.

I’m a busy mom too, and honestly, this is exactly why I believe gardens should fit into real life, not feel like another thing on your to-do list.

The funny thing is, kids naturally become part of it when the garden feels approachable and woven into everyday life.

For us that looks like:
🍓 Picking berries, ripe or not
🥕 Pulling snow peas off the vine or popping radishes and carrots out of the soil like little treasures
💐 Picking flowers to fancy up our table or bring to friends

It’s not perfect.
It’s not always planned.
But it creates small moments outside together that become part of your family rhythm.

And honestly, that’s one of my favorite parts of gardening.

This is also why I design gardens to be easy to access, beautiful to be in, and simple enough to naturally become part of everyday life.

What makes you happy?
For me, it’s stepping outside and seeing something growing.
Fresh greens, new gardens taking shape, and knowing this space will soon be full of life, food, and moments to enjoy.
This is why I love what I do.

Spring planting, right on time. 🌱
Fresh soil, cool-season crops, and seeds tucked in just before the rain… and now everything is already waking up.

This is the part I love most—when a garden starts to come alive.
A few herbs, some brassicas, a handful of seeds… and suddenly it’s all in motion.

Most people start dreaming about a garden because they want fresh food.

But something shifts once it becomes part of your everyday life..

I know this because it’s how I live too, stepping outside for herbs while cooking, grabbing greens for lunch, and moving through rhythms that feel simple and connected to the season.

That’s what I call a lifestyle garden, a space designed around the way you actually live, so it feels beautiful, productive, and easy to enjoy.
Because the goal isn’t just growing food.
It’s creating a garden you truly use.

If you’ve been dreaming about a garden that feels doable and beautiful, you’re in the right place.
