Let’s discuss Mums. I used to be intimidated by them because they always died right after Thanksgiving. I thought it was dumb to spend money on more than one, I love them in the fall. I then learned after the fall season to cut them down and throw them in a fresh pot of soil or in the ground, I introduce to you my Spring mums, brought to you by my dead fall mums…make sure you grab some when they come out around September….let me know if you have any questions

I’m going to switch this page up a bit. There will still be some photography, nature photography for the most part, but I’m putting more focus on making the Earth prettier. Plants! How to grow them, how to combat bugs organically, how to buy one pack of seeds and make it last for years to come. I will offer free seed mailings and free plant pick ups as I start this journey…so stay tuned for great things

I have thought long and hard about this decision and have concluded that it is the best decision for me during this chapter of my life. When I started my photography business I had plenty of time to devote to it. Now, not so much. I’m working some 50+ hours a week at my job that has turned very demanding. When I get off between 8-10p or when it’s the weekend, I don’t want to work more. Photography is work! The editing takes a lot of time. The actual session is fun but the travel, the time, then the editing…I simply don’t have time right now. I have plans of travel, I have plans of enhancing my home, and I will soon have 3 grandkids. So I reported to the IRS last night that I’m closing shop. I will continue to be a hobby photographer and use this as a platform to grow. I’ll still be available for friends and family to take pictures when needed as time allows. The next chapter may provide more time, who knows. I do not feel I failed, I feel I took a leap that many would have been too scared to take. My current position is setting me up nicely to retire, something I really desire. I had to go with what makes sense for now. I want to retire in 20 years and be okay. Be able to travel and do things, not sit home and be bored, lol. I thank everyone for their support over the past 3 years, it means more to me than you know. I may dabble into a little plant side gig, something less demanding yet still rewarding, who knows. For now, the page has been turned, Melissa Marie Photography LLC chapter is officially closed 😘 …take care ~ Melissa Marie
