Sometimes the small jobs end up meaning the most.

We installed a simple landscape lighting package for this customer earlier in the week. I stopped back by tonight to make a few adjustments and make sure everything was working perfectly once it got dark.

What I expected to be a quick 10-minute stop turned into over an hour just sitting outside talking with him.

He’s an older gentleman and doesn’t have much family around, but he couldn’t stop smiling about these lights. He told me how much he enjoys sitting outside at night now just looking at the yard lit up.

Moments like that remind me why I love doing this work. It’s not always about the biggest jobs — sometimes it’s about making someone’s home a place they truly enjoy.

This one meant a lot.

💧 You know something’s wrong when the water coming out of a well literally feels like sandpaper.

This customer started noticing sand getting pushed through their system, and it didn’t take long to find the problem. Their old shallow well points had cracked and started collapsing underground, allowing large amounts of sand to get sucked straight into the pump.

Once sand starts moving through a system, it doesn’t just stay in the well line. It works its way through everything — pumps, valves, fittings — and it slowly grinds down components like liquid sandpaper.

The only real fix was to re-drill and install brand new shallow well points so the system could filter properly again and stop pulling sand.

After the new points were installed and the well started producing clean water again, we still had to flush the pump and valves to get all the sand that had already made its way through the system out.

This is one of the biggest issues we see with older shallow wells. Once the well points start failing underground, the sand problem only gets worse until it’s addressed properly.

The good news is once everything was replaced and flushed out, the system was back to running clean, strong, and sand-free. 💧

If your well is pumping sand, losing pressure, or constantly damaging pumps, failing well points are often the reason.

You’re bound to get lucky every now and then🤪

We’ve installed thousands of lake screens over the years and tried just about every style out there. These days we build most of them ourselves because they simply work better and we don’t have issues with them.

This one uses well-point screens on a custom stand to keep the intake out of the mud and flowing clean.

We also measured the suction line so it routes perfectly around that pole to keep boats from running it over.

Another clean one on Lake Tarpon. 💧
