✨ This Week on the Blog

We’ve talked a lot lately about not waiting until you feel fully ready.

Preparing for our first Atlanta Gift Market has felt like a very real version of that.

From the outside, trade show booths can look effortless. But behind them are hundreds of tiny decisions, creative, logistical, operational, all working together to shape how people experience the brand.

This week, we’re giving you another behind-the-scenes peek into what it’s actually taken to prepare for our first market and what we’re learning as we build this in real time.

Because the truth is, most businesses are figuring things out while they grow. We definitely are.

Courage doesn’t always arrive loudly.
Sometimes it looks like putting yourself out there, trying something new, and trusting the next step before you feel fully ready.

As we head into our first Atlanta market this week, we’re holding onto this reminder ourselves: there’s nothing ordinary about courage.

Thank you for cheering us on and growing alongside us. We can’t wait to see where this season leads.💛

In the last series, we talked about the first step: deciding what you’re actually building.

Because the interiors industry isn’t just one path. There are different ways to work within the industry, each leading to a very different kind of business.

The good news is, this means there’s more opportunity here than most people realize.

Where it tends to get a little unclear is what those paths actually look like.

Many surface pattern designers don’t realize these paths exist at all, and even for those who do, it’s not always obvious how they work in practice or how they’re built.

To build a sustainable business, you need to choose a clear path forward.

So in the coming weeks, we’re going to walk through each one, sharing what they look like, how they function, and what they ask of you.

The goal is to help you start to see what might make sense for your work, and what you might want to build from there.

✨ This Week on the Blog

A lot of designers think getting chosen comes down to having “better” work.

But once you see how collections are actually built, you realize there’s a much bigger picture shaping those decisions.

This week, we’re sharing a behind-the-scenes look at how artwork moves from brief to collection at Kindly Woven, and why understanding the process changes the way you approach your work entirely.

If the industry has ever felt hard to read from the outside, this one’s for you.

You never really know what kind of day someone is having.
But a small gesture of kindness can soften it, even for a moment.
Hold the door. Share a smile. Let someone feel seen. 💛

Once you’ve made these decisions, something starts to shift.

You’re no longer just creating and sharing work.

You’re building something specific.
You understand where it fits.
And you know who it’s for.

That changes how you move.

Instead of waiting to be discovered, you can start identifying the right people and reaching out with intention.

This is what turns direction into momentum.

And this is where real opportunities begin.

✨ This Week on the Blog

A lot of designers move into product development expecting things to feel more… final.

But once manufacturing begins, you quickly realize how much of the process is actually about learning to adapt when things shift.

This week, we’re giving you another behind-the-scenes peek into the realities of bringing physical products to life, and why staying steady when timelines, costs, samples, or production plans change is part of the work itself.

Because product development isn’t really about controlling every outcome. It’s about learning how to navigate reality as it unfolds.
