New shrubs or flowers can update the look. Pruning or removing overgrown plants. NRL is a landscape design and consulting studio. We focus on updating current landscapes but enjoy creating new spaces where families can have fun -- patios and firpits, secret gardens, and water features. NRL has one employee (me) and we associate with a landscape contractor, paving contractor and building contractor.

Those who know me know that you can take the gal out of the landscape, but you can't take the landscape out of the gal. Therefore, I am in the process of starting a landscape design and consulting business here in Florida. The name is North River Landscape for this area north of the Manatee River. North River Landscape Design and Consulting can re-design your existing landscape with new color combinations, paying attention to Florida-friendly Landscape principles.

Jane has been a part of the landscape industry for about 30 years in Wisconsin, having been a part of several companies over the years. Landscaping has always been the green industry, but it is even more important now to create sustainable landscapes. These landscapes should have five components - in this order: be functional, easily maintainable, be environmentally sound, be cost effective, and be visually pleasing.

Our Story

Those who know me from Wisconsin know that you can take the gal out of the landscape, but you can't take the landscape out of the gal. Therefore, I started a landscape design and consulting business here in Florida. My 30 years of both design and installation experience working with contractors apply in landscaping here. Patios and pergolas, firepits and outdoor kitchens are similar to those in Wisconsin -- except for working with frost. I’m enjoying leaning the characteristic of plants, including tropicals and natives.
