A Washington-based company has recalled more than 300,000 security cameras because of incorrect assembly instructions that could cause a fire, federal regulators announced Thursday.

Good Saturday morning! I just wanted to help explain one of the things that sets us apart as a company from our competition. Many of you have seen the commercial from one of our competitors that brags that they can hack into your neighbors cameras to help you find your dog or lost pet. Talk about an invasion of privacy. Every Vivint system has an individual panel with it's own VPN(Virtual Private Network). That means that NO ONE has access to your cameras and security but you and anyone YOU give access to. Vivint's monitoring services can't even view them. Also, we run our own Cat 5 wire to ensure the cameras are always powered and communicating effectively. Each system uses a SIM card in the panel to ensure that you can always know your home or business is protected by Vivint's 24/7 monitoring services, and if your Wi-Fi goes down, the cameras still work and record.
