That time, I was so desperate for a little green and a touch of spring amidst the blanket of snow. So, I shoveled my way into the greenhouse and “watered” kale with snow—because somehow, it made it through the winter, and so will I. 🤣

Funny how life works like that. Sometimes growth doesn’t look pretty or planned…sometimes it looks like showing up however you can, with whatever you’ve got. But even in the cold, even in the waiting, something in us is still alive, still becoming. 🌱

Here’s to discovering that resilience in ourselves—one messy, determined step at a time look like ❤️

Happy Thursday, friend!

Some were asking, so here it is: the pre- homestead totals!

It’s about to get pretty wild around here. I’m not sure where all this snow is going to go! ❄️❄️

The measuring tape is hard to read - the drift behind the house is currently sitting at 52” and the banks along the road are
48”

I don't know our year total thus far, but it has to be right around 300”

Pause today to think of all the ordinary people that it took for your ordinary day!

From the farmer that planted the seeds and raised the chickens 🐣 for your morning breakfast, to the coffee ☕harvester that picked the beans fueling your focus…
the drivers, baristas ( ❤️), builders ( 🔨 ), cleaners, teachers (🙋‍♀️), creators, and dreamers 💕
whose unseen efforts quietly support your every step.

So many hands. So much care. So much purpose woven into what we call “daily routine.”

Let this be your reminder:
Move with gratitude.
Treat people with kindness.
Do your part with intention.

Because your ordinary actions might be someone else’s answered prayer, hope, or motivation. ✨

If you’ve been around here since the beginning of time—because yes, I’m that old 🤣 (mostly kidding)—then you know it’s been 16+ years since I discovered, through God’s wisdom and the answer to many prayers, that our daughter had a gluten intolerance.

This was long before anyone was talking about gluten or even knew what it was. Back then, I had a house full of food-sensitive kids who basically couldn’t eat anything on supermarket shelves—because there simply weren’t options. (Not that today’s options are always amazing, but let’s be honest… having some convenience is nice.)

And here we are again.

The babies and toddlers are now grown(-ish), yet here we still are—many years later—still focusing on gut health through every hormonal season of life: puberty, pregnancy, and now perimenopause.

So I don’t know who needs to hear this, but here it is:

👉 Hormone imbalances without addressing the gut aren’t getting to the root—you’re just putting a symptomatic Band-Aid on a problem.

Gut health isn’t a one-and-done fix.

It’s a lifestyle. 💛

Confidence grows by risk.
Wisdom grows by discomfort.

Comfort feels safe!
Growth will always be uncomfortable.

Old comfort can not carry -
New boundaries. New visions. ❤️ Let that sink in a bit…

I wasn’t raised on a farm and didn’t grow up canning, but I understood the assignment.

Never stop learning new skills!

Because you never know when you’re going to need them.

Well, there's a first for everything, right? A few years back, we had a barn window blown out when the snow slid off the metal roof. With the lack of warm weather (no temps above freezing in weeks), the snow has accumulated significantly, thus warranting some concern for a few of our home (and barn) windows. So, here ya go - “We don’t have sharks, we don't have hurricanes, we don't have gators, we DO have a lot of snow (and apparently now board our windows like the south)!” 🤣❄️ Happy ☀️ -day!
