🚧 Another Drainage & Erosion Problem Solved in Jonesboro! 🚧

This homeowner was dealing with severe washout issues due to a steep slope that made it nearly impossible to maintain a healthy lawn. Previous landscaping efforts had failed, and the grass simply would not establish because the area wasn't receiving enough sunlight.

After evaluating the property, we recommended Zoysia sod, which performs much better in areas with limited sunlight than Bermuda grass. 🌱

To stop the erosion and stabilize the slope, we built a reinforced retaining system using railroad ties. Each tie was securely anchored with rebar driven through drilled holes and into the ground for long-term stability. We then backfilled the area with quality topsoil and compacted it properly to create a solid foundation for the new lawn.

Because drainage is always the key to long-lasting results, we also installed a rock-lined drainage system in front of the retaining wall. Using w**d barrier fabric and river rock, we created a drainage channel that allows water to move freely while preventing soil loss. A drain outlet was added in the corner of the wall to relieve water pressure and protect the retaining structure from future damage.

We also discovered that the home's downspout discharge line wasn't extended far enough away from the foundation and yard. This was causing additional washout problems every time it rained. We corrected the issue by extending the drainage system to safely carry the water away from the problem area.

The customer was so pleased with the results that she immediately asked us to return and install another French drain on the opposite side of the house. We're currently waiting on utility locates so we can get started!

🚧 200 Feet of French Drain Installation Complete! 🚧

This project was a perfect example of why drainage issues are often much bigger than what you can see on the surface.

When we arrived, this homeowner had standing water collecting in the back corner of the property. After further investigation, we discovered water was coming from multiple sources:

✅ Runoff flowing down a large hill behind the property
✅ Neighboring properties discharging water toward and under the privacy fence from both directions
✅ Groundwater collecting in a low area and becoming trapped

The corner of the yard had become so saturated that we had to sump pump the area out, remove the muck and standing water, and excavate the saturated soil before we could even begin the installation.

Our solution included:
✔️ 200 feet of French drain installation
✔️ Tying into an existing drainage system for proper discharge
✔️ Installing PVC conveyance pipe through the heavily saturated area
✔️ Two large catch basins to capture runoff at the problem area
✔️ Building a diversion berm (levee) to help redirect incoming water away from the property
✔️ Proper discharge routing to a storm drainage area where the water belongs
Instead of allowing water to continue collecting against the fence line and low areas of the yard, the system now intercepts, collects, and redirects water safely away from the property.

This wasn't just a French drain install—it was a complete drainage management solution designed to protect the yard from erosion, standing water, muddy conditions, and future drainage problems.

💪 Another Busy Week for the Crew at Taylor's Lawn Care & Landscaping LLC! 💪

We've been hard at it installing over 200 feet of French drain, completing dirt work, hauling and placing river rock, and solving drainage issues that have caused problems for this property for years.

One of the biggest challenges has been a yard that was washing away due to a steep slope. To correct the issue, we installed railroad ties to retain and build up the yard, creating a stable foundation that will help protect the property from future erosion.
We're also preparing to install 5 pallets of beautiful Zoysia sod, which will completely transform the appearance of the property and provide a lush, durable lawn for years to come.

With rain in the forecast for Sunday, we're working hard to stay ahead of the weather.

Thankfully, we have a knowledgeable crew, the right equipment, and a commitment to doing the job right the first time.
Most importantly, we're grateful for our customers and thankful for another opportunity to serve Northeast Arkansas.

This project involved approximately 3,500 square feet of concrete coating, and the results speak for themselves. Not only does it completely transform the appearance of the property, but it also helps protect the concrete and keep it looking great for years to come adding curb appeal and increasing the value of the property by 10-15% 💸
