Today, we honor Juneteenth—Freedom Day. On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued, the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas learned they were free. Juneteenth stands as a powerful reminder of resilience, hope, and the ongoing pursuit of equality. We are grateful for the opportunity to remember this important history, honor those who endured unimaginable hardship, and celebrate the enduring spirit of freedom.
Remembering. Honoring. Celebrating. Happy Juneteenth.
