Message from Adam:

I'm grateful for the season of my life that has been Grasschoppers Landscaping. Since 2018, Dave has allowed us to become something I'm proud of and I hope those that we have served can say they've been satisfied. But, this isn't about me. I hope it never was. Today I want to recognize the ones that have poured out their sweat over those years on our behalf. Anyone who knows of us, knows Jacob's face and his work ethic. Dude's a beast. And then came Luke. Luke never quits, but he had to learn under his brother's tutelage...and that can be hard. But he showed up anyway. Put in the time & learned. This year, Luke was the lead on jobs. Of the 3 siblings, probably the one I'm most proud to have mention their name today is Emma. I made a liar of her and that's OK. She told me 3 years ago she wasn't going to work for us like her brothers. Don't let the cheer outfit or the fancy hair & nails fool you. This young woman is not afraid to work or sweat, and she'll get just as filthy as the boys. And she won't take any crap from her brothers either. I can't thank this family enough for what they've shown me over the years.

Unfortunately, this has been the last year for the landscaping crew. I have informed Dave as of August 1st that we are no longer accepting new jobs. Please continue to contact Dave Foltz 419-769-1181 for your lawn & mowing needs, but Adam and his crew of Stouffer workhorse siblings will no longer be offering landscaping services.

We are proud to support Luke and his perseverance on the gridiron once again this year. He's amped up his passion and work ethic throughout the off-season, and going into week 2 we are looking to see it pay off for his team.

Grasschoppers would like to encourage each of us to support the students in your respective communities. What can we do to elevate our youth in their education and extra curricular endeavors? It all starts with showing up, being present & setting an example...that's where WE can start.

Luke, we're proud of the young man you're becoming. And Emma too, even though she says she doesn't want to work for us!

We are all so appreciative of the prayers for Dave and all of the ways that his community has stepped up to fill the gaps. Dave still has a lengthy journey ahead of him. We are seeing more & more green as the days of spring are upon us. Won't be long now! Like you, we are longing for the temperatures to even out a bit toward the warmer side.

Dave & Adam wanted to get the messaging out ahead of the season about the obvious. In order to provide our services, the costs will be higher than they've been in years past. It is not enjoyable for us to have to raise prices on our customers. It's certainly not fun to have to communicate it either.

As a small town/rural area business, we understand the communities around us and have tried to provide an affordable needed service, as well as an opportunity for those who work with us to gain skills, knowledge and experience well beyond cutting grass and shoveling dirt. While we have been growing the size of the business to meet the need of the area the last few years, we have tried to absorb the costs that have been inconsistent by not increasing our rates on our customers. Unfortunately, this year, this is not feasible. Businesses like ours, if ran honestly, will not increase the cost to the customers to increase our own profits. We are still a service to our communities. We are still taking care of our own employees. But the increases you'll see on the bill this year are a result of the demands of the market in which we get the resources necessary to do our jobs correctly.

We appreciate our customers and supporters, and we thank you for your understanding in these times of unrest. Please, we urge you to continue to shop local for as many products & services as you can!

We here at Grasschoppers think that it's only right to give credit where it is certainly due. There's so much more to making this business work for you as a customer than just jumping on a mower & turning a key, or two guys getting out of a truck & putting shovels in your dirt. A little later than last year, but it's never too late to honor OUR GUYS.
Logan joined Dave's mowing crew this year and was a great addition to a very successful year. He did have to back off working at the end of summer because of golf season. Paulding took the GMC title this season, with Logan playing a role in that team accomplishment.

Luke joined Adam's crew on the landscaping side. A 14 year old with a work ethic (much like his brother Jacob) that out-classes much of the adult workforce these days, he contributed to a crazy busy season. Putting in hard hours, even during 2-a-days of football season, Luke proved he wanted it on the field for Wayne Trace by earning Varsity letter as a Freshman!

As our Paulding County community, help us celebrate Logan & Luke with gratitude & support.
