Hi everyone,
I wanted to share a special project I recently completed the design phase for.
The homeowners had just returned from a dream vacation in Portofino, Italy — that beautiful old-world fishing village on the Italian Riviera — and asked me to create a pool that captured the charm, stone textures, and timeless Mediterranean feel of that region.

When I presented the design, they told me how much they loved it and how well it captured what we discussed.
It’s always an honor when someone trusts me to translate inspiration and memories into a space they’ll enjoy every day.

Below are a few artistic renderings of the concept.

This design blends classic stonework, warm sunset lighting, and simple, elegant water features to echo the character of Portofino — while still fitting naturally into the Sierra foothill landscape.

This Loomis backyard started as a steep, uneven slope — now it’s a relaxing retreat that flows naturally with the land.
We designed the pool’s curves to follow the terrain and added a custom glass tile motif the homeowner envisioned. Paired with the stone wall and stamped concrete decking, it’s a clean, timeless look that fits beautifully into its surroundings.

I wanted to share a recent project we completed in Colfax — a vanishing-edge pool built into a steep hillside with stunning Sierra Nevada views. 🌲
It was one of our most challenging builds, with engineers and heavy equipment working together to make it rock-solid. The result is a serene pool that seems to float above the treetops.

Rocklin Hillside Waterwall Pool — Finished a Month Early 💦

We broke ground on April 14 and finished on July 2—about a month ahead of schedule.
Tight 4-ft access and a hillside? Solved with engineered retaining walls, a sleek contemporary layout, a centered shear-descent waterwall, and a porcelain accent band over a modern dark-gray interior.
