PREVENT HEAT STROKE! π₯΅
I've witnessed a lot of people dropping their hard earned money on plants, but when it gets hot the care isn't there. ππΎ
So here are some of my tips to help keep your investments safe: π
1οΈβ£ CHOOSE HEAT-TOLERANT PLANTS π
Select varieties known for their resilience to high temperatures.
2οΈβ£ MULCH π
Apply a layer of mulch around the base of the plants. This helps retain soil moisture and keeps the roots cool.
3οΈβ£ WATER WISELY π¦
- Water early in the morning or late in the evening to reduce evaporation.
- Ensure consistent watering, but avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot.
4οΈβ£ PROVIDE SHADE β±οΈ
Use shade cloths, umbrellas, or natural shade from larger plants to protect vulnerable plants during peak sun hours.
5οΈβ£ REGULAR MONITORING π΅πΎββοΈ
Check plants regularly for signs of stress, such as drooping leaves or discoloration. Remove dead foliage.
6οΈβ£ MOVE π
Be prepared to move potted plants indoors or to a shaded area if extreme heat is expected.
7οΈβ£ USE SELF-WATERING CONTAINERS πͺ΄
These can help maintain consistent moisture levels without constant attention.
By following these guidelines, your patio plants can thrive . . . EVEN IN HEAT!
