❄️ BRRR! Is it cold enough for you yet? ❄️
With Winter Storm Fern officially knocking on our doors, we wanted to take a second to pause the business talk and talk about YOU. We want our community to stay safe, warm, and injury free during this deep freeze.
Here is your quick Winter Survival Cheat Sheet to get through the next few days:
🔥 Keep the Heat Where it Belongs
The "Burrito" Method: Layering is key! A moisture-wicking base, a warm middle (think wool or fleece), and a wind-resistant outer shell.
Seal the Gaps: Drafty windows? A rolled-up towel at the base of the door or window can save you a fortune in heating costs this week.
Space Heater Safety: We love the extra warmth, but please keep them 3 feet away from anything flammable. And never, ever plug them into a power strip!
❄️ Shoveling? Work Smarter, Not Harder
Before you head out to tackle that driveway, remember:
Push, Don't Lift: Think of your shovel like a mini-plow. Pushing snow to the edge of the driveway is much kinder to your heart and back than lifting heavy scoops.
Lift with the Legs: If you HAVE to lift, bend those knees! Keep the shovel close to your body.
Hydrate & Break: Cold air masks dehydration. Take a break every 15 minutes.
❤️ Be a Good Neighbor
Now is the time to check in! If you have elderly neighbors or those living alone, a quick text or a knock on the door to ensure their heat is running goes a long way. And remember: if it’s too cold for you, it’s definitely too cold for the pups! 🐾
Stay safe out there! We’re keeping the lights on and the cocoa warm (virtually, at least!).
👇 Drop a comment below: What’s your "must-have" snack when you're snowed in? (We’re partial to grilled cheese and tomato soup! 🧀🍅)
