Having the right laundry baskets is one of those small things that can make a big difference in your home routine. A divided hamper that allows you to pre-sort laundry can cut down on the time it takes to throw a load on and make it easier to get more done. Stash an extra basket in the laundry room so you have one ready for when those impromptu loads are done drying (so they don’t sit in or on top of the machine for too long!). If you know it's time to edit your belongings but a full decluttering session feels daunting, try putting a permanent donation box in an out-of-the-way place like a basement, garage, or laundry room. When you come across something you no longer need, you can drop it in the box in real time. (Whatever you do, don't put it back where it was thinking you will get rid of it later!) Set yourself a monthly calendar reminder on your phone to head to the donation center and you have a new habit that will help keep your space clutter free.

You might not think a lot about hangers, but professional organizers sure do!

Wire hangers: please no!

I recommend that you use a slim-profile hanger (felt ones are my fave so clothes don't slip off as easily). They are great for your clothing, maximize your space, and make your closet look amazing.

One thing that makes kitchens feel amazing is to remove things from the counters.

Counters can get cluttered and make your kitchen feel smaller.

I work with clients to create space in your kitchen, which then allows you to move things off the counters and give them spaces to live. It makes your kitchen easier to clean and MUCH easier to prep and cook.

Unpopular opinion: Spring cleaning is overrated!

It's not that I don't like the results, don't get me wrong...it's the pressure to do it NOW in our already jam-packed lives. On the blog, I'm giving each and every one of you permission to start whenever you feel like it!

Let's talk pantry. Do you decant your dry goods?

Some clients love to use matching containers to store dry goods (think pasta, rice, beans, flours) and take them out of their grocery containers.
