This project involved an addition and renovation to a 50 year old split level residence. The goal for the project was to provide a new kitchen and to update and reconfigure the interior spaces of the house. Open and light filled spaces were desired. A modern kitchen was provided for the chef. The main entry was reconfigured, invigorating the house by connecting the new work with the existing space. Tuscan columns were used to frame the opening to the new addition and also created a linear passage/library that connected the entry and the new kitchen space. The new space contained a modern kitchen with maple cabinets, soapstone counters and stainless steel appliances and an informal dining area with a separate adjacent entry.
