FRIDAY PARADE UPDATE
The Eagles Victory Parade will step off in South Philly (Broad/Pattison) this Friday at 11AM – it will make its way up Broad Street, around City Hall and up the Ben Franklin Parkway to the stage in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. There will be over 15 jumbo-screens along the Parkway. Broad Street will have a rolling closure – slowly opening back up block by block once the open-air team busses pass. The players are expected to arrive at the Art Museum steps by 12:30/1pm … the Ceremony will begin at 2pm – and conclude by 3:15pm.
The School District of Philadelphia will CLOSE all schools. Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) will move into their ‘Event Plan’ – and will offer FREE travel all day on both the Broad Street Line and Market/Frankford Line as Gran Coramino Tequila (Kevin Hart’s company) is sponsoring those fares for the day. Both lines will be running trains every 3-6 minutes. Regional Rail will also run express trips – limiting stops along the way.
SEPTA asks commuters to plan accordingly whether you're traveling into Center City to celebrate or for your normal workday.
Meanwhile, Regional Rail customers can use Key cards, passes, or purchase a one-day pass for the parade.
The $10 one-day pass, which goes on sale Wednesday, Feb. 12, must be purchased before Friday, SEPTA said. SEPTA pointed out that Regional Rail fares cannot be purchased on the day of the parade, so customers are urged to load up their Key cards or purchase a pass ahead of time.
PATCO Service Changes
PATCO said it will operate on a modified schedule for the parade.
From 6 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday, PATCO will operate westbound-only service from four New Jersey stations: Lindenwold, Woodcrest, Ferry Avenue, and City Hall, with nonstop service to 9/10th & Locust Street.
Starting at 1 p.m., PATCO will transition to operating eastbound-only service from 9/10th & Locust Street. Normal service is expected to resume at 7 p.m.
Sports Complex parking lots to be CLOSED
Commuters will not be allowed to use the parking lots at the sports complex on Friday.
The city confirmed those lots will be closed, just like they were for the parade in 2018.
One of the reasons, the city said, is that having the lots open takes away too much Philadelphia police manpower.
