𝙊𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙎𝙥𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙨𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 🍊🌲

this is by far my favorite holiday DIY and friends, I'm telling you, it's perfection! so easy to do, looks super cute, smells amazing + it also makes a great holiday or home warming gift.

It takes a little time to dry the oranges, but you can use them to either decorate your Christmas tree + gift wrappings, make a garland or even a beautiful potpourri.

we have already done our orange garlands for the season, but today we'll dry some more to use on gifts this year to fancy them up! I love that because it gives kids some ownership over our gifting + decor, and they keep little hands busy for a time.

I've received oodles of questions about how I go about drying my oranges, so here is what I do.

Step 1◗ Slice oranges to 1/4 inch thick rings. Place on a broiler pan. Cook in the oven at 200° F (100° C) for 4 hours. Flip the oranges over once an hour.

Step 2◗ Once dried, sprinkle the oranges with a couple drops of essential oils -i choose citrus + spice aromas such as lemon, cinnamon bark, clove, nutmeg + ginger.

I wish I could describe to you just how delicious this smells, or better yet, give you a whiff through the screen. but you’ll just have to trust me 👌🏼🌲🍊

and rollin' my oils every day?
only to make my home smell nice?
no. because they actually w o r k.

— after applying essential oils to the bottoms of your feet, within 22 seconds the molecules have reached your brain.

— within 2 minutes they can be found in your bloodstream.

— within 20 minutes of inhaling or applying them, they have affected every cell in your body.

if you're burning a candle and inhaling artificial fragrance + chemicals, that also can be found in every cell of your body within 20 mins. if that doesn't make me more conscious of what i put on / around me + my family, i don't know what will 🌿

this is why it's so important that we fill our homes with plant juices + kick toxins in the butt!

Buck Full Moon Eclipse 🌕

early morning in the house before the day begins..
holiday weekend here in the US and we're in for quite the celestial ride. this eclipse has brought up a great deal of emotions + I'm holding my oils close. taking a breath, doing scent tents, lathering some White Angelica + striving to let go when things are out of my control. Happy 4th of July lovers ✌🏼

🌻 i wake up in the morning in a bright sunny world, still feeling a little low. before I even open my eyes I struggle finding a spark of joy to fuel my day. drained. then i'm thinking.

perfection is not the goal. working from home with a small child is hard. my plate isn’t just full right now, it’s overflowing. and her having no siblings to play with, makes things even harder. but before I go lower, my heart reminds me.

+ practice gratefulness.

there is great value in my daughter seeing me succeed professionally, personally + creatively – learning the importance of a balanced life, filled with work and school, time together as a family, and time for individual passions.

+ momma, be kind to yourself. you’ve been asked to accomplish the seemingly impossible. and you're doing more than enough 🌻

candles ◗ they'd been my beloved companion for more than 15 years. i can remember myself buying scented candles since forever, getting excited about the new "fresh linen" scent I scored at the local market.

there's a SAD truth about candles though that needs to be brought to our attention. not all candles are made the same. unfortunately, big majority of them are highly toxic, harming both the environment, as well as our bodies.

most scented candles are made of paraffin wax, which is derived from petroleum -- used as car fuel 😨 -- studies have found that paraffin wax candles give off harmful fumes – the black stuff you see from flickering flames – these particles find their way into the deepest depth of the lungs, linked to lung cancer and asthma. add chemical fragrance to the mix, and tell me how you feel about it.

why then do they still make them this way? because paraffin is cheaper than other types of wax and it helps to create a stronger smelling fragrance than natural waxes. cause have you ever found a plant called "salted caramel" or "creme brulee"?? YUCK ❗

i still love my candles but now I know. I'm being extra careful with what I bring into our home. never again scented candles. beeswax candles are an option, if you're not a vegan. Essential oils are THE option if you want your home to naturally smell like your own personal heaven 🌿🌺 inhaling nature's nectar I call it.

Ta**us season ◗ time of commitment

that’s one of the first things I get to feel when Ta**us arrives in the heart of spring. aligning with her energy, grounding, physical, focused and determined to pursue whatever is needed in the current season.

this time it's commitment to my dreams, even when everything else seems uncertain. keep paying attention to the beauty around me. commitment to love, self-care + pleasure. no waiting for permission needed. are you open to pleasure lovers or you catch yourself feeling guilty when you have some?🙊

🌼 i wake up in the morning + open the curtains in a sunny crisp world.

first thing I do when I go downstairs, I fill up all the diffusers in the house ~I grab peace & calming + sacred mountain, my soul needs it those days. I make myself coffee whipped with cinammon on top, put my glasses on + open my journal.

small rituals, to create a safe resting place for my most complicated feelings. tons of gratitude in my heart for being able to work from home, helping other beautiful people changing their homes into a low-tox sanctuary. that fills my heart with joy 🌼

April + Oils 🌿

the Sara blend is what helped me through our Sushie's loss. i remember laying on my bed in sorrow + the only thing that could sooth my pain was its dreamy scent, diffusing on my body's temperature, running straight to my very core. there's no better way to use your oils on the go than the rollerballs. this is a blend of sweet almond oil, ylang ylang, geranium, lavender, orange, blue cypress, jasmine, german chamomile, rose, blue tansy, lemon + white lotus. it promotes feelings of peace, protection + happiness. i apply it every morning on my neck, wrists + heart before I make my coffee.
