This morning during savasana, I played my largest singing bowl. It is tuned to vibrate and cleanse and open Muladhara chakra (C).

After class, a student, shared her experience and expressed that she felt some discomfort rise towards the end and the experience became “almost psychedelic” for her. I was so glad that she talked to me about how she felt.

This is normal. Good, even. (In my opinion)

During sound healing, relaxation is normal and is what people tend to desire, but so is discomfort. And who wants to feel discomfort?

Sound healing, with its potential to soothe, can also resurface old tensions and hurts from the depths, where we were storing them in places we weren’t aware of, sometimes for our whole lives. And as the grip loosens, and we begin to let go, we may very well feel it on its way out.

This can be unexpected and unwelcome.

Sometimes, participants can feel agitated, irritated and could even leave a session feeling angry with me, the facilitator, for not providing the relaxation that they craved.

I am aware that this can happen and am happy to talk about it and to suggest tools to help continue to cleanse the body and energy fields of discomfort in order to move into a calmer, more desired, state. Healing is not linear, nor is it always comfortable. But that calm is still always there, at your center, waiting for you.

If you have ever experienced discomfort during a session with me, please feel free to talk to me about it. I’m here for ya. 💜✌🏻🙏🏻

Ten years of selling my art at Crafted Arts Boutique, the sister store to Open Center Yoga, has come and gone. I sold my first piece of jewelry there back in October of 2015.

I’ve been making things since I was a small child. I sold my beaded jewelry to classmates in junior high. Dollar Daisy chain rings on fingers and toes were a quick fad I created back in those years and I have never stopped. From those early simple patterns, I created my own styles, patterns and designs. I have sold jewelry in bars and on beaches. Crafted Arts Boutique has given me venue for displaying and selling my art beyond my wildest dreams. I love selling my art with my soul sisters. Ten years passed in a flash!

In a world of fast fashion, the disrespect for the labor that goes into handmade pieces is so real. Come slow down with us. Check out what we have made with our hands. And join us for a craft class. It’s a grounding experience in 2026!

My sorely neglected art page is if you’re interested in seeing my stuff.
