18 years ago, an 18-day study of earthen architecture in Mali. Start-Bamako to Grand Mosque of Mopti. River Trip: Mopti to Timbuktu via Niger River with 5–600 unique mud mosques. We saw many. Cliff Walk: The Dogon Culture along 150-km-long / 500-m-high Bandiagara Escarpment. Lastly, The Great Mosque of Djenné (the largest earthen building in the world).
