Here’s a big builder’s grade refresh. .rachel.p trusted us with her family’s bathrooms. Rachel is such a talented designer and her aunt and uncle were wonderful to work for. Her uncle Mike still texts me on holidays. lol this was over a year and a half ago but our trades knocked it out of the park. David and I made some custom mirrors for the hall bath on site and that’s always a fun challenge. I gotta get caught up on sharing some of our photos. ✌️

This bathroom we completed for one of our friends in central phoenix last year. The space was so incredibly hard to capture. David was beating himself up on his photography on this one but it still looks so good. Some of the most satisfying projects are the ones that tend to be the most challenging. We had some fun details in here and the order of operations with under mount tubs with waterfall quartz present a ton of stop and go for our specialty contractors. Damon, JP, and I did a lot of math to make sure that we built the space so then the tile started and ended perfectly with nearly full tiles. I’m thankful and proud of how this one came out.

Central phoenix. Before and after. Little video, some stills, and the before photos. These clients were smart and knew that their home had cast iron which was not in great condition. The home had converted supply lines from galvanized to copper from a previous owner. We replaced the cast iron with abs and now they are good for another 50 plus years. Sometimes the best improvements you never even see. We think that all of these upgrades were spot on.

Wilshire before and afters! Our crew has this kitchen looking like an ad in a magazine. Super proud of this one. We love doing these older Arizona properties. The design team at kept the design bright light and true to the original layout from 80 years ago. The textures and patterns are just enough pop without overpowering the kitchen. We had the pleasure of building the hood in my driveway which feels like a common occurrence at this point. 😂

Seldomly we perform remodels without the assistance of designers. Those instances we get often times asked about what is on trend and what is not. Some people have a hard time conforming to trends based on their personal preference and or taste. The bottom line is that if you are going to remodel your home, choose what makes you happy. Who gives a s**t about what is on trend if you’re not going to enjoy that space for years to come. We are here to make sure that the quality of the remodel will last you generations. This bathroom isn’t going to be everyone’s particular taste but it’s beautiful. Really beautiful. We completed it at the beginning of the year and our clients were very happy about it. That makes us happy.

Here’s a primary bathroom in central phoenix we wrapped up almost 2 months ago. We made some stories about the progress of this shower because we self performed the framing, plumbing and doors over there. The concept of the original bathroom was unique but it lacked every day function. The reality is that the glass wall wasn’t great to keep pests out, was an oven with direct sun, and provided zero privacy. The pebble flooring is rather uncomfortable on the feet and there were wood products applied in wet areas that shouldn’t be introduced to moisture. We worked with the client to re establish the function of this bathroom by eliminating that exterior barn door, eliminating another pocket door and relocating the entry door to the bathroom. She did all of her own design work/product specifications and now has a shower that she actually wants to use daily. 💪

Builders grade transformation. The combo of the natural light with the bright and airy finishes really do it for me. We completed this project in November of 2023 and I figure it’s about time I get motivated to post it. Our team did an amazing job on this one.

Before and after:
Entertainers billiard remodel. This one we did a couple years ago in the foothills of Ahwatukee. Last winter we popped by because the clients finally got their new pool table. Bold design accents with the hot rolled steel backsplash made this one of my favorites.at the time. We did a lot of the work ourselves and the ceiling height made this one a major challenge.

Working on historical homes is fascinating. Last week I mentioned how a good architectural designer can take a space with a s**t layout and offer the clients a virtual tour of their new home prior to construction commencement. Here’s some before/after/during/renderings. This house was built in 1932 during the Great Depression. The economy was at an all time low from the Wall Street crash, we hadn’t recovered yet from WW1, Amelia Earhart just completed the first solo flight across the Atlantic, and some guys were building this home making $1000 annually. 🤯 Interior walls were removed, some windows and doors were upgraded, almost everything was modernized, but the original history and character was somehow preserved. Almost 100 years ago a family sat around a radio listening to buck rogers and now this couple can watch Bobby flay on their big screen while baking a focaccia pizza in their oven and checking their email on an ipad. Sometimes it’s easier to just scrape the home and start over new but then where would the memories go? Thanks for reading folks! Have a great weekend.

I was going through some photos and I was comparing real life vs digital renderings and I find this process so enjoyable. It has to be particularly rewarding for our clients when they work with an architectural designer to achieve an exact look for their home and we come in and get it this close.
