My heart breaks today as the world has lost an amazing soul. I met Anne in 2012 after I graduated culinary school. I went to Crate and Barrel to pick out simple dishes to display my new “talent”. Unsure as to how to put a place setting together, I asked the spunky, straight talking woman next to me what she thought of my selection. Her response, “it’s nice if you want people to think you bought a box set at Target”. I chuckled and was quickly humbled. Still not knowing who she was, she offered to help as she was waiting for someone and it would be some time. We spent the next hour or so putting together options and my small budget quickly quadrupled. I complemented her eye for design and she replied that she worked in “food and set design for Food Network” and gets a discount. She then offered to extend it to me. In thanks I offered to buy her a drink and we walked down the way where we sat and she spoke of her love for food and presentation. That day changed me and my thoughts of the display of food. I think of that day often as I choose which plates to use and am grateful for the time we spent. The world lost a good one today and heaven gained an angel. Rest peacefully Anne, thank you for the inspiration. 💕
