It's probably not surprising that I'm always noticing every detail of my surroundings. 🕵‍♀️

I can't tell you how many pix of restaurant bathrooms I have on my phone... 📸🚽

(But it's a LOT) ♾️

I have to say I love the interiors and details at in Uptown. It's a warm, layered mix with the right number of subtle unexpected touches in the art and wall treatments. ✅️

This remodel has been going on for a few stressful months, due to damage from previous tenants and two repeat hoa drain backups in the last 4 months (now fixed.)

It needs a lot including new kitchen cabinets and countertop, flooring, paint, window treatments and bathroom vanities.

The bummer is- its our rental. And Lawrence is doing most of the work after his regular job.

We have some very special tenants who have to move in temporarily before the end of the month. Can you say pressure?

I have a choice:
1) Have a bit of design fun while being mindful to not overbuild the neighborhood and stay on timeline.
2) Go bare bones and make it exactly like it was before.

The designer in me is in a quandary. What would YOU do?

Rest in Peace Frank Gehry- an amazing eye for architecture and design. So many iconic buildings, furnishings and home products to show for his 96 years. ⭐️

There are iconic pieces of furniture that become classics and can work in any setting. Consider the Wiggle Chair he designed in 1972. Still in production, it is made from layers of cardboard and at home in a contemporary space or even with a toile sofa.

He had many incredible public buildings and residences, but the one I see up close most often is the Ruvo Center for Brain Health in Las Vegas since it is directly across from the Las Vegas Design Center Building A.

Spooky? I'm camping out at the vacation rental tonight, watching a YouTuber I've never seen before talking about reading this book. I glance over at the bookshelf and... THERE. IT. IS. 👀🤯💥

I did not put it there. I've never seen it before. .. a guest must have left it and I never noticed.

Anyone else out there read it? What did you think? I'm reading it now!cx
