Reservoir Park Community Garden

Reservoir Park Community Garden Located at Franklin & Fillmore Sts., RPCG aims to provide Phoenixville area residents the opportunity to garden together and to build a stronger community.

The Reservoir Park Community Garden is a group of local volunteers committed to community and education through organic gardening. The garden was launched by Jess and Kyle of Seventh Wonder in the spring of 2013 and transitioned to new leadership in 2015. The land for the garden was generously provided by the Borough of Phoenixville. We welcome new and interested members and are always looking for

volunteers to help us grow! Contact us at [email protected]. Why be part of a community garden? Gardens revitalize communities. They reduce crime, encourage neighborhood, economic, and community development, reduce family food budgets, stimulate social and cross-cultural interaction, and improve quality of life for residents. Community gardens provide meaningful service opportunities, increased community connections, and a pathway for social change.

What an amazing day in the garden! Dozens of volunteers of all ages (mostly young!) showed up and set to work dismantling by hand the fences of all those individual beds. Piles of wood, wire, metal, and stone rose near the parking lot, and tomato cages were put to rest in one of the sheds. The painted water barrels were lovingly stacked out of the way. It was all finished by 3PM! Many thanks to Trellis for Tomorrow for superb organization and outreach, and to all the volunteers who pitched in today. The long-awaited deer fence is scheduled to be built by the end of this year. The buzz was friendly and it was great to meet some of our new friends! There is still time to sign up for the new garden in 2023!
