We figured since it was Easter then it was a trip down the rabbit hole!

Sometimes you have to give an old house bone surgery.

This one threw its back out over years of a large open living floorplan having a full lifetime of memories being made in it.

Remodeling isn’t always shiny fixtures and new cabinets. Sometime it’s ugly and unforgiving.

When we go into someone’s house to “make it pretty” we go in with a set budget to accomplish the goals we say we are going to do. Sometimes the house itself will tell us this isn’t happening in the budget.

This one started out fairly normal. Patch a section of floor that had a little give in the subfloor and put new floors throughout. Something we have done many times before. We even expect to possibly find a little more than we think and we know we will just go head, f*x it and move along with it.

Well once we started taking up the portion of the subfloors we thought needed repaired we discovered 2 separate water leaks that had been there for a long time. One ENTIRE side of the house was in less than good shape. We went in with a plan to change out about 10 floor joists and it turned into 6 new seals and 30+ new floor joists.

For us as a company this is unsettling because we know for our clients this in a nightmare. We know that when we are working on someone’s house that they have saved or moved their money around and made a decision to let us help make their dreams come true. Money for a residential client is not endless in most cases. Difficult decisions have to be made and we feel it in the pit of our stomachs.

For this one we will have to leave it at the sub floor. The circumstances do not allow us to move forward.
We will have to leave this one being sturdy and safe.

We rebuilt 1/3 of the house from the bottom with new bones. No one will fall through the floors and we can always come back to put down floors when the time is right.

It’s been a good week of being busy. From one end of Central Louisiana to the other

—New Exterior doors installed
—New Interior bifold doors installed
—Cabinets set and ready for tops
—New floors
—A little cabinet manipulation (to accept microwave above oven)

May is our 10 year anniversary and it has us pondering.

•It’s been an awesome adventure of becoming a small bussiness in an indusrty that has had large changes with technology and materials to build with.
•Keeping up with the logistics of ordering and keeping material on multiple jobsites, even during a pandemic, has been a fun challenge.
•All the personalities of team members, vendors, sub-contractors AND CLIENTS that have to be navigated and maintained is a daily adventure.

We appreciate EVERYONE that we have met along the way and are GRATEFUL for all of the friendships created(ALOT are practically family).

We look forward to the adventure ahead of us and look forward to continuing our journey.
