This exemplifies what we refer to as “the beauty of the wood,” showcasing how the same wood species can exhibit distinct staining patterns and colors from one board to another. The clear oak boards on the ground have been stained with Minwax Alluvium oil-based stain and have not yet been treated with polyurethane. The treads situated to the right have been stained with Minwax Carbon oil-based stain and are also awaiting polyurethane application. Notice the diverse colors, particularly in the boards stained with the Alluvium stain.

For people who want a more consistent color, there are methods to minimize these variations, such as applying a green tinted wash to neutralize red tones, or using wood bleach prior to staining, however, utilizing these methods can increase project costs as well.

It’s been a while since we’ve posted; sorry about that, but we’ve been very busy until very recently (our slow season this year has consisted of about two weeks of not being utterly slammed!)

We are now working on building our fall 2022 and winter 2023 residential wait list. If you have indoor painting, staining, or epoxy/polyaspartic work (garage floors, basement floors, or countertops), now is the time to contact us for an estimate to get work done later this year.

Attached are pictures of the garage floor we completed in Oakmont today. The owners chose a gray tint base, with a full broadcast of 1/4 inch “Domino” flake mix.

This is a gorgeous walnut wall cap and mantel that the homeowner of a new construction house we are working in asked us to epoxy. 😍😍😍 In a few weeks we will also be doing a mica flake polyaspartic garage floor for them as well. We can’t wait! This home is so beautiful and the owners are amazing people.
