Progress is in motion in a Ross Twp. Kitchen. After a roof leak damaged the ceiling in their kitchen, we demolished the ceiling. Then installed drywall only to find the roof was still leaking. We inspected and found the plumbing vent gasket had a gap around it letting water inside. Well, after removing a half sheet of drywall we then addressed the roof, reinstalled the drywall, installed a door and screen door. Waiting on the window to come in, we have been finishing the drywall, painting, and getting ready to install new 6” baseboards and trim. Also, we hung two brand new beautiful lights.

So Frog Pad Fixers spent Saturday trying to wrap up some projects. This house is in Green Tree. After exhausting all options to reinstall the same door but make it swing the opposite direction because of code & handrails, we opted to go pre-hung.

The only problem with pre-hung was the fact you needed 82” x 30” rough opening for the standard size 80” x 30”. Not being able to obtain that common size due to plaster, because once you break into it it’s hard to control, we went ahead and modified the standard door size to accommodate the smaller dimensions. Then installed a new gate mounted to a concrete retaining wall, painted cabinets, added new hardware, and its coming together. We take pride in solving problems at a fair price.

Remember to drip your faucets when temperatures dip below zero! It can save you time and money. Copper pipes can freeze, expand, and break causing costly repairs. Pex can do the same but likeliness of the Pex breaking is slim due to expansion and contraction capabilities.

So today we were able to get the dip taken out of the drywall. Hung the light. Everything is about to be buttoned up, just have to lite hand sand the drywall seam repair to blend it! Had to be done or could have potentially cracked in 6 months or so! Also, old paint along the repair started bubbling do to residual moisture. So scraped, mudded and Shilacked to ensure a lasting fix!

Also, being they didn’t match the paint exactly because of aging old color and stains, the whole kitchen ceiling will have to be painted and we are wrapping up Monday at our scheduled 12:00 o’clock booking. Finish photos coming soon.

So when you stare at white for hrs when finishing drywall sometimes you can’t see mistakes. But just add a dab of paint and Boom 💥 there it is, like the grinch who stole Christmas. No worries, we fix our mistakes free, couple 2x3’s, a little mud couple hrs, Hocus Pocus all fixed. Other than that seam fix, everything is looking 👀 👍
