Ever turn on a light switch and it doesn't actually turn the light on, or sometimes the light flickers, and other times it works just fine? If so, that is not normal and you should have someone qualified take a look at it.
In this case, the wrong gauge wire had been used in this 20AMP circuit. This photo shows a damaged wire that failed because it was the wrong gauge, and the long term use caused degradation that ran through the jacketing, ultimately negitevly effecting the lights ability to work properly. If not corrected, the damage could have been worse. Make sure whoever you allow to work on your electrical has the education and experience to do good work. One wrong wire can really become one real big issue!

We got a call from a homeowner who has plans to sell their townhome, and just after signing a contract with a realtor- had a VERY LOUD maintenance issue pop up in the mechanical room! ...Just as it was hitting the market!
(Ain't that ALWAYS the way it goes?)

We were able to get to the property and shut things down, preventing further damage. We got the part replaced quickly so Sellers could proceed w selling without any interruption. 😊

For those of you who are curious- this is a vent blower, which, in this case is a requirement to keep things up to code.

We got a call from a customer who needed help with their garage door. It wasn't catching everytime she raised it, and also popped back up after closing sometimes.
We were able to take a look at it and tighten/adjust/lubricate the chain, rollers and hinges for her. We also noticed a piece of wood had split that serves as a support, and replaced it to reinforce and keep the wood from lifting everytime the door closes. Happy to say a little TLC was all it needed and the garage door is functioning very smoothly once again!
