I would LOVE to see pictures of your planters, baskets, or flower beds!

These photos are from Bree Taylor Savat yard, and they’re just too beautiful not to share. Her flowers are absolutely thriving and she always has the artist eye on what colors look great together!

Now it’s your turn! Drop your photos in the comments below and show off those blooms. 🌺🌿

Also, if you have a favorite plant from this year or something you’d like to see us offer next season, let us know. We are already making plans for next spring and would love your input!

Tips and tricks!
Lucy’s favorite flower is definitely the Bubblegum Proven Winner petunia! 🌸💕 I always get asked how we keep them looking so pretty and full.

At the greenhouse, we actually haven’t trimmed them back at all this season. We simply fertilize once a week with Jack’s Bloom Booster (link below 👇) — and I’ll definitely be carrying it in the greenhouse next year because we’ve had amazing results with it!

At home, we decided to do a little experiment on some leggy petunias. I trimmed back half of the plant (Plant b) and left the other half untouched (plant a). When I trim, I cut back down to where there are still green leaves remaining.

Three weeks later, you can really tell a difference! The trimmed side came back much fuller and healthier looking. I also fertilized right after trimming them back to help push new growth.

Don’t be afraid to give your petunias a haircut mid-season — they bounce back beautifully! 🌸

*sorry sold out of watermelon *
As we finish our last day open with our bedding plants here till noon, I’ve had a little time to reflect on lessons learned this season and maybe a few things you can use in your own garden too 🌱

Lesson 1: Container size matters!
The larger the container, the less watering it needs and the more room your plants have to grow and thrive. I wish I would’ve started some of our plants in larger pots instead of transplanting them several times throughout the season.

Lesson 2: Fertilizer schedules are important.
Always mix a slow-release fertilizer into your pots to help cover nutrients you may miss later on. Also keep a granular fertilizer schedule for different plants. By the end of the season, Wednesday became fertilizer day around here! 🌿

Lesson 3: You can do hard things, even when they scare you.
Starting a business while working full time and raising a family is a lot. I’m truly blessed with an amazing support system that believed in my dream and helped make it reality. From planting, building tables, watering, childcare, bringing food, and cheering me on — I’m beyond thankful ❤️

Lesson 4: You will never know or grow all the tomato varieties 🍅
Seriously… there are SO many different types 😳

Lesson 5: LABELS!!!
Even if you think you’ll remember, you won’t 😂 Always label your plants. Promise next year we’ll do a better job with labels and have little info sheets for all the different varieties too!

Thank you all for supporting our greenhouse this season. We’ve learned so much and can’t wait to keep growing together!!

Max has pumpkins up as we are working on our fall one stop shop for your pumpkins, mums, straw, etc.

Winning as a parent is to teach the next generation early!
Lucy loves her fresh veggies, so I always try to plant her favorites where she can easily reach and pick them herself! Our cherry tomatoes never last long when she’s around 🍅😂

This year’s new favorite? Snack cucumbers! 🥒 Watching kids get excited about healthy food they helped grow makes all the hard work worth it.
