Project Ascender was a stretched LJ that JCR Offroad built back in the day, making its way to SEMA and later being featured in JCR’s catalogs and product lineup.

Now, we’re bringing that era back.

There’s a little lore behind this build. We originally built it for SEMA with one goal in mind. turn it into a pizza delivery truck.

We had the pizza topper, logos, pizza boxes, banners, and even shirts packaged up like pizza orders. We leaned into the joke so hard that the hospitality company running food service at SEMA actually thought we were serving pizza. 😂

One of our favorite builds, and definitely one of our favorite SEMA memories.

After hearing from so many of you asking about them, we decided it was time to bring them back.

Many of our old parts are back up and available to get on the website!

So we dug into the archives, pulled some photos from EJS 2018, and brought some old favorites back to the lineup.

Some are even making their return as part of our new JK Signature Series.

We knew this Comanche had to be orange.

Pete and I originally picked out a burnt orange from a MazdaSpeed3, but on the day we painted it, we changed our minds.

The color we ended up with is Midnight Orange Metallic, a unique Mercedes color with tons of mica that gives it an awesome color shift in the light. Depending on the angle, it can go from orange to almost yellow.

Definitely not your average Comanche. 👀

These are fiberglass cutout flares from our friends at Notch Customs. They require trimming quite a bit of the factory body, but the payoff is tons of extra tire clearance.

We’re running 35s on about 4 inches of lift, and these flares give the MJ that massive look we love.

This 4.6L stroker is anything but stock.

We paired the stroker with a Boosted Technologies supercharger and a fully standalone Holley system.

Using the Holley distributor and LS-based sensors, we were able to give the Holley complete control over the engine while keeping the factory Jeep computer running the gauges and charging system.

It’s a pretty unique setup, and it has worked incredibly well.
