Ok so I did a fun thing....

I ordered a small batch of handmade wool felt garden charms sourced from Felt and Yarn in Nepal a small operation that centers local Nepalese women through training, fair wages, and safe working conditions.

Im selling bees, snails, tomatoes, beets, broccoli, and green onions all with little faces.
They work as keychains, bag charms, plant pot hangers, or just soft weird objects for people who like plants and small unnecessary things. They will have a keychain fastener.

They're not here yet but I'm taking preorders now.

$10 each // 3 for $25 // full set of 6 for $48

Porch pickup in Portland. DM me or comment below to claim yours.

📷 Photos are from the supplier — real photos coming when my order arrives!

Just started seeds for honestly the first real time. I bought these tough 1020 trays, you can fill them with soil and sow right in, or set pots in them and bottom-water. They are quite strong. Worst case, a few will live in my trunk for Tony's Garden Center runs, because apparently that’s my second home.

There are whole pages here dedicated to composting. The world has turned it into a high science. Add this at this time, that at that time, stir this way, leave it alone. I follow a group here (, Just Compost) and these were the actual questions just this week....

1. Can you put weeds in compost
2. (close up picture) am I doing this right? Im a novice..
3, Can I put algae in compost
4. Can I put urine in compost? (I did not look at the comments on this one)
5. What is the right ratios....

I love intentional gardening. I was taught to believe its important to be stewards of the land. AND ALSO,

Compost is happening, right now, everywhere without our help. Billions of tons of it. Just plugging away, composting.

The hard rules of gardening take away the curiosity. On every single one of these questions...I would type the answer...JUST TRY IT. (--yes even number 4) Nature’s not delicate. Nature is tough, resourceful, and incredibly forgiving and ready for your curious self to bramble in a try stuff.

Some folks in Australia had an excess of wool. Some said, "lets try composting it." (It was not the sheep who brought it up) Its now a process they use for desert restoration. (video in caption)

So be curious, do things. Do things "wrong" and discover how nature makes it work.

Feel free to tell me what you are curious to try, I will 100% be your cheerleader on this.

Awkward Garden alert!

Bananas, Tomatoes and Tacos Oh my! People who worry they do not have space, let me show you this beauty. This belongs to Merendero Estela Honduran restaurant @ 7107 SE 82nd Ave.
(check Maps for more deets)

I found it because I saw here on FB marketplace they give away boxes of banana peels I can use for the garden/compost.

They grow their tomatoes in this amazing hydroponic set up, and they grow their peppers on site in boxes. This is actually ON 82nd, for those of you worried about growing space, they show a cool option.

They also have amazing Honduran food. Solid win on Fridays you can score a box of banana peels and some street tacos for the win.
