Saranae Kurtz opened Achin' Back Garden Center for business in October 2004. Achin' Back is a family-owned and operated business that takes great pride in family values, providing top-notch customer service and providing the local community with high-quality products. The Kurtz family has been involved in the green industry for over 40 years, with husband, Randy, running Chesco Landscaping since 1

972. Saranae studied horticulture at Temple Ambler, before embarking on the journey to open this beautiful retail store. Over the past twenty years, the local community has changed drastically and we have grown and adapted as a new, local business. Big box stores and outlet malls have popped up all over the grid, making it even harder for the "Mom & Pop" stores to survive. We have specialized our business to feature organic products, locally grown plant material, unique items and gifts, beautiful floral arrangements and excellent customer service and gardening advice. Together with their team of knowledgeable employees, Kelli, Randy and Saranae make sure that every customer is treated like family and are satisfied with all of their purchases. Congrats to Megan and Tyler on their wedding! It was a beautiful June day to have a lovely backyard wedding in Pottstown. The moody flowers and gorgeous textures of all the greenery and ferns really created a beautiful and simply elegant space. 50’+ of mixed garland helped to hide a chain link fence. Megan had a gorgeous cascading bouquet! Can’t wait to see their real pics from the ceremony!

Fertilizing annuals is critical because they have only one growing season to complete their entire life cycle, causing them to burn through energy rapidly. Unlike perennials, which develop long-term root systems and can try again next year, annuals must grow roots, flush out lush foliage, and produce continuous blooms all within a few months.
