Powhatan Va. – August 5, 2025 – Quick AC is pleased to announce it has received a $10,000 grant from FLIPP inc. and VAEEC, to support vital workforce development training initiatives.

This funding will be instrumental in assisting with the costs of training the workforce of the future.

The organization is grateful to FLIPP inc. and the VAEEC for the investment in the community's workforce. The grant expands the organization's reach and equips individuals with valuable lifetime skills for the current job market, while strengthening the local economies across two states.

The Quick AC training program offers employees the ability to get certifications such as EPA 608, RIT, on up through state licensing for RBEA and Master trades like HVAC.

Quick AC is a Class A contractor dedicated to serving energy efficiency programs across Virginia and West Virginia.

We are hiring for Weatherization Crew Leader - if you’re looking to grow with a company, learn a trade and are willing to travel this could be the job for you! If you or someone you know might be interested - please share!

Weatherization includes performing insulation in attics/crawlspaces, bath fans, air sealing, duct sealing, weather stripping, etc. Our focus is making homes as energy efficient as we can, working with government partners.

Key Responsibilities:
-Lead a team of at least 2 crew members
-Collaborate with team members to complete projects in a timely manner
-Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
-Provide exceptional customer service and address clients concerns in a professional manner
-Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times

Requirements:
-Experience in weatherization work preferred but not required
-Valid driver's license, with a clean driving record
-Punctual and dependable
-EPA certification preferred
-Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
-Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
-Willingness to travel to job sites on a weekly basis
-Good communication and customer service skills
-Ability to lift heavy equipment and in various weather conditions
Salary & Benefits:
-Hourly pay rate: $17-$23 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

QUACQ had a wonderful holiday, and we had a most enjoyable Christmas celebration with our team! We recently had finished renovations to the upstairs of our office building and were able to host the annual Christmas party there this year! We had food catered by Maggiano's, fun with the photo booth, casino tables and prizes for our employees. We hope everyone had a great 2024 and will have a wonderful 2025! Thank you for supporting us and we look forward to BIG things in 2025!

DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME ENDS

Daylight Saving Time ends on the first Sunday in November at 2:00 AM.

The practice of Daylight-saving time (DST) (also known as summertime) advances clocks during the summer months. It causes us to lose an hour for one day. However, the practice allows people to get up earlier in the morning and experience more daylight in the evening. Typically, users of DST adjust clocks forward one hour near the start of spring. Then, they change them back again in the autumn.

NATIONAL DEVILED EGG DAY

National Deviled Egg Day features a favorite hors-d'oeuvre or side dish for parties, holidays, family reunions and potluck dinners. This well-loved food wows guests during the holidays. Designers have even created specially designed carrying dishes and plates just so you can deliver your deviled eggs safely and in style. The deli section of the grocery store prepares packaged deviled eggs. They can even be found in some convenience stores, too.

AUTISTICS SPEAKING DAY

We all look at the world in our own unique ways. However, people with autism experience the world differently from most of us. They approach the world in often novel ways. Maybe one of the most important ways we all connect to and understand the world is through communication. Autistics Speaking Day on November 1 encourages autistic people to tell their stories using whatever means works for them. And everyone else is encouraged to listen, hear, read and comprehend their stories from their point of view.

On November 1, autistic people will flood the internet with their challenges and their celebrations, their interests and their dislikes. They will speak about their rights and advocacy in many languages. Some may speak with art, others with poetry or memes. They may also be speaking through podcasts. Their words and stories may be difficult to hear, but they will be speaking. But, most importantly, they will be speaking about themselves for themselves. And if you want to understand, it will be a day for you to listen.
