The process isn't always easy. Vessels break. Wick testing....oy vey. Getting a good hot throw...mehck. But the end results are always worth it.

What the candle making process taught me is: all advice is not good advice....especially if you KNOW the quality your customers expect.

I took the advice of many chandlers to make the switch from glass to tin. Primarily because it's cost effective and easier to transport. But true....but, NEVER AGAIN! I followed this advice and ended up losing product because the tins either damaged easily or got destroyed when the candles were lit. Nahhh I'm good. Ran back to glass because I RUFUSE to have poor expectations and quality because of "ease".

Lesson learned.

means burn tests. The right vessels AND the correct wick (type and size) make all the difference. A nice, clean, calm burn. You can set it and forget it....but don't do that.

A chandler's worst nightmare when it comes to vessels.

Towards, the end of last year I decided I wanted to use tin vessels (advice from other chandlers).....yeeaaa no. I'm running back to glass...matte glass at that. I feel like I lost more product than ever before made me big mad....I'm very meticulous and sensitive about my work. I def don't like when the finish product doesn't mirror the quality and luxury I want.

But I'll take a few broken vessels over funky looking candles and tins.
