Have an ac system that uses R22 and its low on gas ? Here's what you need to know .

1) There's a leak, R22 doesn't decompose.
2) To repair a major leak would be a waste of money.
3) R22 equipment is no longer being manufactured.
4) R22 will no longer be manufactured as of 2020
5) Anything older than 10 could and should be a candidate for replacement.

If you want to inquire as to the refrigerant in your system, that information is available on the data tag on your equipment.
