A breathe of fresh Aquidneck Island air.

We are so excited to share this recently completed bedroom design project in beautiful Middletown, Rhode Island. Our clients wanted a serene, inviting retreat that captured the essence of Rhode Island coastal living,
and this light-filled space is exactly that.

We started with a refreshing sky-blue on the walls and warm, wide-plank wood flooring to ground the room. The design is all about layers of texture and curated patterns:

Custom Upholstery: That unique, flame-stitch patterned headboard makes a vibrant statement, balanced by the classic paisley and white matelassé bedding.

A Nod to the Sea: Framed seahorse and lobster art (with that classic deep blue matting) adds playful, maritime decor elegance. The unique driftwood mirror is a textured showstopper!

The Details that Count: We love mixing vintage and new—from the classic blue and white ginger jar lamps to the custom pattern-mix on the side chair. And how about those custom Roman shades featuring a fresh geometric pattern?

In this serene bedroom retreat, design continuity is everything. Putney Interiors used Creeping Fern Print in Slumber Blue—a gorgeous abstract, feathery print—as the grounding foundation to tie the entire room together.

Spanning 2.5 stunning acres, this unique property is affectionately known as “Barber Pole Point.”

💈 The name is a nod to a long-ago resident who was a barber—and if you walk down to the end of the dock, you’ll find an old-fashioned barber pole standing tall as a beautiful homage to the history of the land.

Inside the residence and its cottages, the interior design embraces a timeless, traditional aesthetic . We styled these spaces to feel elevated yet deeply personal, seamlessly incorporating the family’s cherished heirlooms—from ancestral paintings to stamped silver—ensuring every corner tells a meaningful story.
