Dark stormy clouds roll in, but the porch still glows.✨

Flowers may steal the spotlight, but foliage does the job of brightening and adding interest to your space each day. Layers of lime, emerald, and chartreuse green, with deep burgundy and silver can turn even a gray, rainy afternoon into something beautiful. On a stormy Florida day, these foliage combinations still bring all the color, texture, and pizazz a porch needs.🌱

One thing I love even more than plants and flowers is butterflies. 🦋

So when I find a Black Swallowtail caterpillar on my dill, I don’t reach for the (Insecticide) spray, I celebrate 🎉

🌿Dill, parsley, and fennel are host plants, which means these little caterpillars depend on them to become beautiful butterflies. 🐛

If you could, please leave a little room in your garden for the butterflies. A few chewed leaves are a small price to pay. 🙏💚🌎

This oppressive heat in SW Florida is no joke!

If your planters are looking scorched, wilted, or just “off,” you’re not alone.

Even “full sun” plants are struggling a bit.

I shared what I’m doing in my own pots right now, such as timing of watering, mealybugs (with ants) I’m seeing, why I’ve paused fertilizing, and a few small shifts that really help.
