🌄 Morning light has become a non-negotiable for me.

Getting outside first thing, barefoot when I can, sunlight in my eyes, has been one of the simplest but most powerful shifts in my healing.

That early light does more than people realize…

It helps set your circadian rhythm, telling your body when to wake, eat, repair, and sleep.

It supports a healthy cortisol rise in the morning (when it should be higher), and helps your body produce melatonin at night so you can actually rest and recover.

It also plays a role in:

• Hormone balance
• Nervous system regulation
• Mitochondrial function (your cellular energy)
• Mood + mental clarity
• Sleep quality
• Immune support

For me, after years of my body being out of sync, fatigue, neurological issues, hormone disruption, autoimmune disease this has been a way to start rebuilding from the ground up.

And the grounding piece matters too…

Bare feet on the earth helps reduce inflammation, supports circulation, and brings the nervous system back into a calmer state.

This isn’t anything extreme or complicated.

It’s going back to what our bodies were created for.

And honestly… most of us just aren’t getting enough of it anymore. 🌄

🍞 Just a little collection of sourdough bakes that I've made in my kitchen over the years. 🍞

It has been a fun learning process for both myself and our 12 year old daughter.

🤎 Her absolute favorite thing to make are the cinnamon rolls. 🤎

We use coconut palm sugar for the filling, but double the icing recipe!

🌲🫐 My favorites are a toss up between that fruit pizza and the tree boule with a seasoned compound butter candle that melted ever so wonderfully over the bread. 🫐🌲

And because I'm a millennial, I sure can not forget to highlight the ever so popular 'S' of my youth.

🥖 Which picture looks tastiest to you?! 🥖

This is my face & I feel like it's time to share part of my journey

I was 19 when my body started changing in ways I couldn’t explain.

Severe digestive issues, nutrient absorption problems, and constant stomach pain became part of my daily life.

I sought answers for years, but they were often dismissed or left unresolved.

By 27, everything escalated.

That year I underwent two surgeries that resulted in a total thyroidectomy after thyroid cancer diagnoses.

I also had my gallbladder removed.

Around the same time, a 1.5 cm pineal gland cyst was discovered.

Everything was so fast rushed that I didn't know what questions to ask, nor did I have any information for how life after thyroidectomy would be.

Most recently in 2025, I received a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis.

For nearly a decade, I’ve been living in a cycle of symptoms, procedures, and more questions than answers, learning how to advocate for myself when I didn’t feel heard, and slowly piecing together what my body was trying to communicate.

Now, I’m in a different season!

I’m learning how to care for myself and my family in ways that feel more connected to the basics again...real food, homegrown food, sunlight, grounding, gentle movement, heat and infrared therapy, and returning to the rhythms that support my body instead of fighting against it.

Gardening, milling my own grains, cooking whole foods, and building a slower way of living has become part of my healing process, not as a cure-all, but as a way of supporting my body as I move through life now.

I don’t share this as a finished story.

At 36 I’m still in it.

But I’m learning to live it differently and I'd love to hear from you and have you follow with me!

I chose these photos to portray that even on those rough & hard days, I'm still showing up & still smiling.

Would also like to connect with anyone following a similar journey.

And as of results received this morning, I'm 9 years cancer free! 🙌🏼

Thanks for listening to bits of my story! 💗

We start most mornings with fresh squeezed orange juice from whole oranges and our cast iron press.

It’s simple, but packed with vitamin C, potassium, and natural enzymes that support immune function, skin health, and overall cellular energy.

I like knowing it’s real food in its purest form and it's one of the easiest ways to start the day with real nourishment.

Just fruit, fresh pressed, and a small daily habit that actually nourishes you from the inside out.

🐦 Mama robin understood the assignment 🐦

She built her nest right inside the kids’ clubhouse… and somehow chose the most perfect spot directly under a sign that reads “Caution: Kids’ Zone.” You really can’t make this up!

🪺 Four tiny blue eggs tucked safely away like she knew exactly where to be… and this morning those eggs have turned into four baby robins. 🪺

Tiny beaks and that quiet chaos of new life happening right in the middle of our everyday homestead rhythm.

💙 It still feels like one of those moments where nature just shows off a little...thoughtful, intentional, and somehow perfectly placed. 💙

🪺 We stumbled on the sweetest little surprise out on the homestead today...A perfectly tucked nest holding four of the bluest robin eggs I’ve ever seen! 🪺

Nature never stops amazing me. The color alone feels like a tiny piece of sky resting in a nest.

Everything about it felt still and intentional, like a quiet reminder to slow down and notice the small, beautiful things happening all around us.

And if I'm being truly honest, I really needed that reminder.

We’ll be watching from a distance and letting Mama do her thing, but I couldn’t not share this moment ✨

Homestead life if full of little gifts! 💙

I'd love to see what your homestead has surprised you with recently! 👇🏼

🍪🖤 Fresh milled Oreos 🖤🍪

Made with freshly milled soft white wheat berries + Dutch cocoa for that classic black Oreo look, but without the artificial dyes or ingredients.

Just real food, from-scratch goodness with a creamy filling that actually feels good to serve your family.

Crisp edges, soft center, and that nostalgic flavor… only better!

My daughter has been asking me to make these for awhile and she was not disappointed! 🥛✨

What are some of your favorite homemade bakes?

Would love to hear below! 👇🏼
