Sunday Supper and who's still cooking them? A good old fashioned beef pot roast is never out of style for those Sunday supper's. The delicious aroma of sautéed onions, celery, carrots and a big beef roast cooking on the stove fills the house and you know your home. Old fashioned cranberry buttermilk bread. Yummy but missing something. I used all-purpose flour, cornmeal, buttermilk,egg, butter and cranberries. It was good but I wanted the texture and little smoother. What am I doing wrong? I don't use cornmeal too often.

Making compound Butters Today. Compound butter is butter with added ingredients like fresh herbs, garlic or even fruit and honey. Sweet compound butter taste great on pancakes, muffins, biscuits or breads. Herbed compound butter are perfect for steaks, poultry and fish or even bagels. Let's make some yummy side dishes for our Italian Parmesan Crusted Baked Chicken. Tonight it's two easy sides to make while the chicken is baking. Vermicelli with chicken stock and seasoning. Also a side salad with baby spinach and cherry tomatoes from my local farm stand. I garnished the salad with some slices of Parmesan Reggiano....oh so good!
