So Many Varieties!
𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐤𝐞:
- Cactus & Succ
ulent Soil or a well draining soil mix
- Top Dressing (Pea Gravel, Aquarium Gravel, Crushed Granite, Etc. To keep their bottom leaves off the surface of the soil and allow them to dry more readily and prevent rot. This also keeps them cleaner too!).
- Lots of early sunshine and afternoon shade
- Being Alpine plants they don't mind Alabama winters at all. They weather nicely even under a blanket of snow.
𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞:
- Extremely hot temperatures (This is why they benefit from afternoon shade in the hottest parts of the summer).
- Over watering (They can handle an occasional over watering such as cases of heavy rain if provided with proper and adequate drainage. Do not place in areas of standing water or heavy runoff-they will die).
- Poorly draining soils
- Poorly draining containers
- Inadequate sun exposure
