Kiddo doesn’t always hangout in the studio with me but when she does, she leaves her mark.

Cleaning up after her isn’t something I see as a negative. It’s fun watching her explore and live her life in the background while I’m working on orders.

She’s curious, inquisitive, creative, silly - I wonder where she got it from 🤪

We're SO excited to be able to be making our 2026 debut at a place to special to us! While Kelsey is the creative brains behind the operations here, her husband Nick does all the heavy lifting, LITERALLY. Excited to pack up a little bit of Kansas City and haul it up there for the weekend.

Pumpkin Days will be your chance to grab this year's new collections as well as some other favorites. Get them before they're gone! All of our stockings are made in small batches, but built to last a lifetime (or more).

There are quite a few new faces here lately, so it feels like a good time to reintroduce myself and to this little dream of mine.

I’m Kelsey, the hands behind The Sunday Studio. From my home studio in Kansas City, I make Christmas stockings designed to become part of your family’s story. Each one is cut, stitched, pressed and finished by hand, usually somewhere between school pickups and rounds of puppet shows with my toddler.

This brand is rooted in the belief that handmade things still matter. That your home doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s. That traditions can grow slowly, one meaningful piece at a time. And that even during the busiest season of the year, we all deserve a reminder to pause, reset and find our way back to what matters.

These aren’t big-box stockings made by the thousands. They’re small-batch pieces made for real homes, growing families and Christmas mornings you’ll remember.

Last year, some of your stockings went home with a label sewn inside. Some didn’t. I was testing different sizes, placements, and ideas, trying to figure out what felt right without adding something just for the sake of adding it.

This year, I finally found it.

Every stocking will carry a little piece of The Sunday Studio and, just as importantly, the words "Handmade in Kansas City".

That part means so much to me. I am so freaking proud of this town, especially this summer, and proud that these stockings are being cut, sewn, pressed, packed, and sent into the world from right here in Kansas City. I’m also excited to be working with another small Missouri business (link to their Etsy shop in the comments), to bring these labels to life.

They’re small. Barely noticeable, really. But that’s kind of the point.

Tucked inside each stocking is a quiet reminder of the slow Sunday that always comes back around. A chance to breathe, reset, realign, and remember what all the holiday craziness is actually for.

A tiny label. A little piece of home. And one more detail that makes these stockings feel like they were made to stay.

No makeup. Messy hair. Downstairs at my sewing machine in between answering a million questions from the toddler, loads of laundry, snack requests, and whatever else the day decides to throw at me.

With any luck we'll be able to have lunch at the splash pad, come home after and crash for a good group nap.

It's not a perfectly styled day. Not a quiet, cinematic afternoon with coffee and soft music.

But honestly, this is part of what I love about it.

These stockings are made in real life. In the margins of motherhood. In the pockets of time I can find. Slowly, carefully, and sometimes with a messy bun that has fully given up.

It may not be glamorous, but it is handmade. And that’s kind of the whole point.
