On March 9, 2026 at approximately 3:38 p.m., officers responded to the ocean block of Pennsylvania Avenue after a homeowner called to advise that his security system notified him that someone was in his house when it should be unoccupied. Upon arrival, officers were able to see inside the residence and observed Joseph Lilly, age 41, of Rehoboth Beach, seated at a table in the residence. Officers entered the residence and took Lilly into custody without incident. Officers discovered the Lilly had broken a window to gain entry and had eaten some of the food from the residence. Lilly was charged with the following:

Neighbors in Bethesda say an alleged squatter takeover of a $2.3 million bank-owned home is continuing after Tamieka Goode was released from jail just 11 days into a 90-day sentence for trespassing and burglary.

Goode posted a $5,000 appeal bond and returned to the home within hours, according to surveillance footage.

Goode’s attorney claims she exploited legal “loopholes” tied to a title issue to establish residency and says multiple people are living in the property. Neighbors report safety concerns, including worries about a juvenile allegedly staying in the home.

Montgomery County police say the occupants have gained residency status after more than 30 days, pushing the matter into landlord-tenant court.

Goode is due back in circuit court March 6, while her partner, Corey Pollard, has an active bench warrant.
